Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. Jim wrote to tell me a little about Bruce Wadlin and his Florida 4 Wheel Drive & Truck shop. The sixty-nine year old Bruce runs the shop himself, selling “OBSOLETE JEEP & Willys Parts”. Jim grew up with him and said that Bruce has been buying and selling new (old) parts since the 1970s. Bruce is pretty old school, still using only a phone or fax machine. He doesn’t even advertise. So, Jim thought he would place ads on Craigslist and contact eWillys.
The shop is located at 6110 17th Street E, Bradenton, FL. The phone number is (941) 756-7844. Bruce generally keeps hours from keeping hours from 11am until 5PM daily (though the ad says noon to 6pm).

“I have a Kayline soft top to fit a CJ3A, no bows or doors, just the top with windows. I purchased this in the mid 90s and only had it on the Jeep for about two weeks and its been packed up in the original box ever since, these were nice tops and Im not for sure if you can still buy parts for them or not. Randy spotted this top. It’s not perfect, but finding a never installed arctic top sure is unusual. I’d like to know the story behind it.
“RARE…NOS never installed Willys jeep artic hard-top M38. Some surface rust from sitting in crate outside, 2 broken windows on back panel, maybe missing some hardware”
