This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. The August 20, 1944, issue of the Evening Star shared these jeeps used for War Bond Sales. They were modified by the Camp Gruber, Oklahoma, motor pool. The image with “Jeeps in Civvies” label has been featured on eWillys previously, but I’ve never seen the other two jeeps.
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2800.
Listed as a 1941 Willys Jeep, this is a curious one. This might have a truck cab and flatfender fenders.

“WWII Willys MB.
This vehicle is fairly complete but not running. 134Lhead motor, T84 transmission and transfer case. The body has been modified with a hard top and other unique additions. Over all this is a great vehicle for parts etc. Good running gear, front rear and original GI Ross stearing box. The parts are worth alot so $1500 takes it. I’m looking for the title but if not found I can do a notarized bill of sale.”
Those folks not on Facebook might have missed this well done CJ-3B with a sedan top.
This photo was taking in 1951 and shows Bill Warren in front of his modified jeep. It looks like a simple convertible top is stowed on the rear of the jeep.

The February 1948 issue of Mechanic Illustrated included this blurb about a sedanized jeep.
The February 1948 issue of Popular Science included a small blurb about this custom wood jeep out of Seattle built on a WW2 chassis.

“Willys CJ2 like you have never seen before. Has mid 1940s Chevy cab grafted by a coachworks company to a CJ frame. 4 wheel drive 3 speed manual. This has just been gone through mechanically and has been painted OD Green bedliner after being taken down to bare metal. 31″ tires. A fun vehicle for hunters or campers. Can tow behind vehicle.”
