This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “Pick up 53 Willies Body in good conditon, but needs paint. Needs radiator and front axle, but runs on rear axle. Tires are fair. Has not been registered or driven since 2003. Have pink slip”
Robin just brought home a 1951 truck from Wyoming. Accompanying his new purchase is the plate shown below. Was this a plate used on exported trucks? Neither Robin nor I remember seeing a plate quite like this. My google searches yielded nothing.
Mike shot this cool, but sorrowful picture.
The bumper could use replacing, but this pic hints that this might be in decent shape.
“This is a 1956 4 wheel drive Willys pick up. I believe it’s all original including the 134 CID 6CYL and Borg Warner transmission. It was a running truck when I bought it as a project 2 years ago. It has since been started a few times but has not been run in about 6-8 months. Will require a tune up to be road ready again.

(12/21/2012) This has some updates that give it a little different look.
“1958 Willys Jeep Truck. Sitting on a mid 80’s Ford F150 chassis. Mildly warmed over 302 engine with Edelbrock carb and aluminum intake. Granny low 4-speed, warn manual lock out hubs up front. 4 wheel drive works great, truck runs and drives awesome. Very solid. All the lights work, fires right up everytime. Brand new tires.

Bob spotted this running truck. Because of the wheels, at first I thought this had a S-10 swap, but it doesn’t.
“selling a cool old truck. lots of petina. 57 willys with a good running chevy 283 bolted to the original trans and 4×4 transfeer case. starts, runs and drives good. but has no brakes. one or two other small things… would be a good 4×4 trail truck. this truck is 55 years old, so yes there is rust here and there, the frame is solid. it is a cool little hot rod. or even make it a rat rod. three 3 0- two 8 o- 092six.”
