This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. (05/08/2010) Needs new clutch linkage.
“Must Sell! Price dropped. Very nice body. Parked for a few years with broken clutch linkage -otherwise all there. Was a driver when the linkage broke. ”
I think this looks like a good, solid truck for the price.
“This is a nice old truck, not perfect by a ways and probably not a candidate for restoration to original but a good basis for a driver. The PO [Previous Owner] put an inline 6 GM engine in it but didn’t have to cut the firewall to do it, still has the T-90 transmission and Spicer 18 transfer case, Dana front (25/27?) and the Timken rear axle, 4wd works in both high and low range, no OD. As with many of these old trucks parts from one year ended up on another so the grill and gauges are not “right” for a ’49 which is the year on the title. Has aftermarket amp/water temp/oil pressure gauges in dash, stock gauges aren’t hooked up, it’s been converted to 12v.
Paint looks faded but OK not a pro job as there are a few runs/sags on the bed, not a rust bucket at all, frame is solid floors are solid. Truck runs (rough) drives/stops goes where you point it etc but will need a good going through to be a driver. I bought this 8-02-08 from a local here in Durango with big plans but ended up spending all my cash/time on my Wrangler. Every time I look at it I see Dana 60s/vortec V-8 and an exocage and I feel the truck deserves better but if that’s what you want to do with it so be it…..”

UPDATE; **SOLD** Was $2800.

“1961 Willys Pickup 4×4. Flat head 6 (226), 3 Spd with Waren Overdrive. Runs great, everything works. Needs finish work. Current registration. Comes with extras: Doors, Bed, Transmission and more. Has some rust, but patchable or replaceable. $3500. invested. $2800”
This looks quite stock and appears solid. It doesn’t run.

The engine turns over, but it sounds like it doesn’t run. It appears solid.

(07/20/2010) If someone can make this run easily, it might be a good deal. It appears in good shape considering it’s been sitting out in the field for a while.

Jean-Sebastian spotted this nice looking Canadian Gladiator for sale.
“Beautiful 1965 Jeep Gladiator, 350 Buick eng. Automatic trans. A real pleasure to drive, certainly turns heads wherever it goes. It is a 4×4 but never goes off road! Power steering, manual hubs, truck is always garaged and rarely even driven. Needs a few finishing touches to make it perfect but is fine the way it sits! Hate to sell it but could really use the room in my shop right now. Please email with questions and I’ll try and answer them the best I can, if you would like more pictures let me know and I’ll send them off. The truck has a California title at the present time. I can have the truck shipped anywhere or will work with your shipper on my end.”

“I recently purchased this truck to keep as a toy, but I have decided on another project that I did not plan for and need to sell this one ASAP. It is a 1953 Willys truck showing 80,710 miles and has a flatbed in solid useable condition. Engine is an old style original and appropriate 283 Chevy V8 conversion with headers, Cherry Bombs and stacks – so your neighbors will know when you arrive home at 2am! It also has a Warn OVERDRIVE split transmission which is a rare and desireable option and on the dash it says “Warn Overdrive” on a sticker that looks to be original condition. It also has nice bucket seats, good glass, rear hitch and rare cab top clearance lights. Really good condition for 57 years old, solid and not a rust bucket! Has had the rockers, floors and a few places patched. It runs and drives but will need the fuel tank cleaned out and possibly a replacement electric fuel pump. I have only driven it about 50 feet onto my trailer since I have owned it so I don’t know how it goes down the road. Tires have lots of tread and hold air fine, but they have some dry cracking. Surprisingly most everything worked on it – the heater, the window cranks and has both wiper motors that need a little attention. It is by no means a restored truck, but complete enough to do a lot better with and make less ratty.”
