Update on the Hotchkiss M-201, I pulled this one down. I found the same rig and all the pictures on a UK FB post.
I was just talking to someone over email about the importance of the Photos and how they are invaluable to use for search to do basic cross references.
The story about the BAT rig that was posted as an MB, and it being an 1960 Hotchkiss, then this being a 1960 Hotchkiss, it was all too fishy for me at this time.
So doing some more digging I found the same email tied to a similar approach where the user grabbed a BAT photo of a high end Chevy 427 that sold in March, then reposted it on a site racetrade in Aug for like half, it sold on BAT for $50k reposted for $22k.
So this was almost the same exact approach on this ad.
I do try to vet the emails and users as best possible prior to posting, but this one got through and that sucks, but as soon as I figured it out it came down.
I have notified the other site of the suspected scam for the other race engine as well.
Thanks, Tim
M-416 Trailer $800 Augusta, NJ
I have one of these also, it pulls amazing easy, never hooked to a Willys don’t have the set up to pull on the Wagon.
Tailgate is cut which is normal at times on these to make them your own. When I got mine there was a place making reproduction back panels but not for the M416 right then, but I felt they replied there was a way to make them work.
I need to rebuild the suspension, looks like normal CJ bushings and the sort, maybe 9” Drums never measured them, but these have brakes and the sort, really useful trailers.
This shows the drop leg, brake handle, converted to a ball from pintle, but those are out there to go back to.
Information from seller:
Heavy duty jeep style trailer. Military look. 5 lug 7 x 16 tire. Multi leaf suspension spare tire. Has tailgate. 41” wide flares out to 49”. Long 72” pick up in Hampton township. DM for more details.
Wehrmacht Mechanics Captured Jeep
This is a pretty neat video Barry sent over about WWII Jeeps and the Mechanics. The WWII supply chain was pretty amazing and nothing quite like it has existed since then IMO. While we have a very amazing current Global supply chain, the overall approach and planning of how this all played out, looking back and learning more about it makes you really appreciate the sacrifices on all sides.
Information from email:
Evan sent me this video. I have watched a few videos from this producer, and I like that they show their sources. I think it starts a little slowly, but it certainly tells an interesting story about the Jeep’s influence in the post-war world.
1948 Jeep Willy Truck $4,000 Mitchell, SD
’48 Truck Project. I would leave the 350 don’t need the extra clutter around and do a nice small period correct V6, they look and perform really nice in these rigs.
Another one that there is alot here to work with.
Information from seller:
1948 Jeep Willys Overlander. No motor installed. Comes with 350 Chevy Small Block and transmission. Good project vehicle.
1952 Jeep Willys Truck $4,000 South Wayne, WI
Not too many pictures to share on this one, F134 under the hood.
Information from seller:
Havnt sold yet Had it running a couple years ago I need to get back to it.
1950 Jeep Willys Jeepster $9,995 Braintree, MA
Might be a Dealer Ad, I thought this was one from the Owls Head auction, but that was a ’49.
Photos are a little hazy, do not adjust your screen. Pro Tip clean your phone with one of those Lens Cloths prior, then AUTO adjust the phots prior to posting. At times they are fuzzy to conceal something, I don’t think that’s what’s going on here, it would help to have good photos of an “unrestored” rig,
Information from seller:
1950 Willys Jeepster Excellent unrestored condition
Using old Willys Delivery Wagons for advertising never gets old. Pretty cool to see them out and about doing their thing, even if its just displaying the locations name.
Ran across this ad for a Jeep Farm Stand, but from the current posts they don’t need much help as they seem fairly popular and sold out over the weekend of their bakery goods.
Either way figure if you are in the Trion, GA area (NW Corner of GA) and follow this on FB you might be able to snag some baked goods and learn more about their early Willys Delivery.

Also please remember the support of everyone pulling together afterwards in the weeks and months following was really amazing. The Service Members who volunteered in the decades that followed and the First Responders and Volunteers who have passed and many to this day are sick with many illness from the recovery efforts.
