Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. This odd combo popped up on Facebook. No indication as to where it was taken.

“2nd owner. Odometer is 7,256 miles (yes, still works. Read on).
Purchased late 70’s, used at summer lake cabin on weekends. From cabin to lake shore and back to cabin (1 city block away). Down the hill, reverse, up the hill (hence low mileage on odometer).
Original Willys Super Hurricane inline 6 cylinder, 3 speed stick, Hi/Lo 4X4.
Engine starts easy, runs pretty good. Smokey, needs ring job.
Also needs: cosmetics (paint, some rust), brakes (none), passenger floor board and door, gas tank, original upholstery (except driver’s seat).
Still a solid rig. Great fixer upper (hate to see it go for parts).”

“1962 “Willys” wagon with transferable registration.
The body is on Chevy Monte Carlo metric chassis; has a Ford 9 in rear-end, Camaro spindles, disc brakes in front and rear, power steering, fuel cell with braided fuel line.
The frame has been built with cross bracing and drive shaft safety hoop.
Chassis is set up for small block chevy engine.
I’m planning to chop the roof 5 inches; make it yours for $4500. now or $5500. after I chop roof . ”

The interior looks great, but the exterior is rough.
“Very Straight No rust out, Buick V6 4bbl carb, 350 trans. all new interior, converted to 12 volt. Runs great no bondo no major dents. This is the cleanest straightest 1948 Willys you will ever find.

“One of a kind ex show truck. Chop top, sedan delivery, Vista Cruiser wagon roof, tubbed rear with a nine inch Ford. One very cool piece of vintage memorabilia. At one time this truck was a show winning street beast. It sat neglected for years and now needs a total redo. It has rust, especially on the passenger side fender and hood. I have a very nice hood and perfect fender to go with it. The only parts I don’t have is a decent passenger door bottom and rocker. These can be built or bought.
