Based on the seller’s comment, I believe all that faux wood grain was airbrushed. Must have taken quite a bit of time.
“Fully Restored, Air brush painted! If you can’t afford it don’t call.”
This one-of-a-kind smoker and BBQ was built from a 1954 Willys Wagon. It was created as a portable bbq kitchen for a restaurant in Mississippi called the The Shed (actually, two restaurants now) founded by the Orrison family. They chose to use a Willys because, “it’s like the oft repeated mantra of cooking great barbecue: You have to drive it ‘low and slow.'”
Medium.com has a long story about The Shed and their experience at a BBQ competition.
Here are a few photos from medium.com and from USA Today:
UPDATE: Was $10,000. **SOLD**
Another 1948 Package Delivery Van, except this is the California Body version. Compare it to Jesse’s version.
“Will sell all of my Jeeps for the low price of $10,000 (Firm) which takes into consideration that there are issues, minor to major with all 3. Do Not let this scare you off. This is a screaming Deal for what I have and definitely warrants the expenditure of some time to come and look if you are a serious Jeep buyer! 1. 1947 CJ2 2. 1951 Jeep pickup 3. 1948 Willys Overland Parcel Delivery (PD) Quite Rare! First two run and the PD was driven from San Francisco to Paynes Creek 18 years ago and has not been started since. It has the 4 cylinder flathead engine and the other two are F Heads. The 1947 has an F head that is a transplant out of a 1953 jeep station wagon. I will entertain the idea of parceling them out. I do not answer TEXT messages, If you wish to communicate with me you must respond to the Craig’s List email platform with your phone number and your first name and I will get back to you shortly. I can provide more pictures by request.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $7000
It runs and drives.
“Looking to sell my 1963 Willys Wagon. I’ve got too many projects and need to cull the herd. This is a good weekend driver or project vehicle for someone with more time and money than I. Engine and trans runs strong, recently had the carburetor tuned, it runs like a top. It is a 3 speed manual transmission. 4wd and transfer case seem to work without issue. Recently replaced the stock metal fuel tank with a polyurethane tank and new fuel pump. It is a 60 year old vehicle so there are normal issues with a jeep of this age, its not a hot rod, needs tires, and there is some rust around the underside, tailgate and rear wheel well. Considering the age and rarity of finding these vehicles, it is in better shape than most I have found. It looks good, runs, drives and have title in hand, which is better than 90% of the others on the market. Cash only, no trades, no low ballers, want to sell ASAP, but please only reasonable serious offers.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $4500.
