Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. I’m sure I forgetting some other things here.
Glass is all there in good shape. windows roll up and down fine. has original willys heater which works fine. bumpers are in very good shape. all lenses are intact and fine. trim is also all there and in perfect shape.
The truck runs excellent. everything operates the way it should. the engine sounds like a sewing machine, you can barely hear it running.
good tread on tires.
all body is in excellent condition. one issue being is rust in the bottom of the tailgate. you can tell it has been stored indoors most of its life.
Bed wood slats are also in excellent condition.
This truck goes down the road at 55-60 mph no problem.
what it needs is to have the leaf springs re-arched, and maybe a gasket replaced on the gear box. it has a very slow leak. I always check it before it is driven though. and it functions just fine.
