Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. The seller claims this is a 1962 Maverick, but I understand they were only produced in 1960? Glenn believes this may just be an old inventory item that was sold the next year. He also notes the side chrome is very hard to find. It may be worth a closer look.
“This is a rare “maverick” edition. I bought it to restore but have too many projects. It does need total restoration but all parts and body panels available. It does run but smokes. Needs brake work but emergency brake works. 6cyl 3spd and its 2wd.”
No engine, but it appears like a solid project rig.

“1951 Willys-Overland Wagon, 4×4, original 4-cyclinder engine. Sold complete, as is, I will not part-out the vehicle. I have the middle seat and a used Willys-Overland chrome bumper in very good condition that I bought for the project. I’ll throw throw these two items into the deal (the bumper currently on the car was destroyed by a previous owner by installing a hitch tab). The body has some wear and tear but no significant rust. This vehicle is is great shape for it’s age and is in fantastic shape for those that have the time and money to restore it. Sorry, but I am firm on the price of $1900. You will need to tow or trailer the vehicle. Cash only (no checks, no credit cards, no money orders, no trades)”
Bill forwarded some pics of his beautiful Wagon build. I thought it was a stock rig until I saw the drag image.
This is my 1947 2WD Jeep wagon that I fixed up. It’s kida a wolf in sheep’s clothing. With the right wheels it looks kinda stockish. It is powered by a 540 BBC motor with a trubo 350 trans and a Dana 44 rear diff with a 4.10 gear and a True Trac. I have upgraded to a Rac steering and disc brakes. It has a stock front suspension, so that’s why it looks so funny leaveing the line when I drag race. It runs low 11′ second in the quarter mile. It is driven as much as I can, and even take it out for a spin every Christmas. I do live about the 49th parallel.

Dave spotted this cool wagon.
“This is an original barn find. The exterior paint is the original 1948 paint. This vehicle sits on a 1984 Nissan hardbody Truck chassis . Wagon has power brakes, disc brakes, power steering, 1999 Suburban 350 motor with a 2 speed Powerglide tranny, NEW Edelbrock carb, aluminum radiator. Runs very strong.
Has custom woodgrain airbrushed dash & window trims. Original wood slats in the back area. Also has new wide white wall tires with Mooneye disc caps. Cadillac Escalade leather seat. All new windows and rubbers and felts. New after market gauges. Has some rust, the patina is perfect. Needs headliner, window cranks, and few other odds and ends (nothing major).”

(03/22/2010) “’59 Willys Wagon 4×4. Ground up restoration. Chevy 350ci, 3 speed manual transmission w/overdrive. Completely redone inside and out. 11k obo or will consider trade (Especially if your trade gets good gas mileage).”
