Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. This July 09, 1942, article out of the Pomona Progress Bulletin (Pomona, California) highlights the ‘Jeep-of-All-Work’ tiny, versatile car. It includes some interesting illustrations.

“1954 Willys 4 wheel Drive Farm Jeep AD, taken from a 1954 magazine. AD measures about 5 x 8. Condition is Good with some discoloration from age.”

“JEEP Willys MB built in May 1945. All original metal tub NEVER left frame until frame off restoration in 2006. Bought from military in early 70’s in California. Have history to today. Most of its life was spent in Arizona. A lot of time it was in storage at Deer Valley Airport. Restored to “fresh to the service without going to war” condition in 2006. Front bumper still has original rivet brackets and tag. Fresh repaint 2019. This jeep WAS NEVER an off road toy. Most all parts are original or nos. NOTHING modern added period. It has all the appropriate MAY 45 extras, original 6 volt system. 5 nos combat wheels w/ correct tires. Lots of small items like books, storage box, removable license plate bracket
Additional accessories include-
– Correct canvas top by Beechwood Canvas with all the extras
– Original U.S. WWII full Size Infantry Axe and Shovel.
– Original U.S. 1940’s Era brass fire extinguisher mounted driver side.

This has a few body patches and some MB parts.
“Early 1942 Ford GPW “Script” Jeep. Runs and drives well. Converted to 12 volts. Has a Willys MB motor in it with a GPW head. It will need some TLC depending on your final goal for it. This Meyers-manufactured and privates labeled by Sears (and others) hardtop may be a good price. It does need glass on one door.

“Aluminum hard top currently on a Willys’ CJ-3b. Includes both doors (one needs glass replaced) and rear lift gate. I believe it is a Sears Aluminum Top from the 50’s. Need the room in the garage for kids stuff and other projects.”
