About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
Did we ever determine the origin of these hubcaps? A similar use of the “J” logo was used on Cutlas hubcaps, but the hubcap was much more plain and the lettering was black, not red. A similar set was for sale in Florida back in 2017. I checked the Brian Chuchua and Conferr catalogs, but there’s sign of them in there.
“1948 Willy’s Jeep RatRod truck. A lot of fabrication went into it. It is a Rat Rod. (If you don’t know what a RatRod is then this is not for you). The drivetrain started out as a 2003 Ford Ranger Edge. V6 Automatic, AC, Heat,PS,PB, CC, Touch Screen stereo. New Glass, Lowered 4/5 inches. Runs and drives good. Would be a good Dailey driver or just for fun on the weekends. I’m not really looking to get rid of it but always looking for something else to play with. Up for trades. I have original paperwork from 40+years ago on this truck and a clear TN title in my name for the truck and the one for the original Ranger Frame. What’s for trade?”
“1974 dj5 vintage postal jeep ice cream truck ready to go make your money freezer included old school music speaker lifetime tabs start your own business, be your own boss, do your own events price to sale”
This Kelly brochure provides a good closeup on how the tire carrier mounted to the rear of the jeep. You can see that it bolted to both tailgate hinges and to the center. (view more rear tire carriers/jerry can carriers here)
This has an M-38 body. No description provided. The “WILLYS” branding on the hood is incorrectly placed. I’d have to guess that the hood is also from an M-38.
UPDATE: Price bumped to $7000. I’ve tried to locate another example of this kit car, but couldn’t. Some of these kit cars only sold a handful of products. For example, only four models of the VWeep (which doesn’t look much like a jeep) were produced.
(12/20/2019) Something different with a little jeep DNA.
“Vw beetle fiberglass jeepster kit. 1600 engine, 4 speed IRS transaxle. 4 or 5 seater . A lot of new parts. A rare vw kit. Runs and drives great. Has title. No trades.”
“Here is a set of 15×10 Aluminum Slots that I took off of a 70 Jeepster commando years ago. They are in EXCELLENT CONDITION but do need cleaning. The bolt pattern is 5×5 1/2 and will fit big pattern jeeps and early Ford trucks from about 1972 and earlier. Again these as you can see are very very nice and it’s hard to find nice ones that have not been curbed and all dinged up. I will not ship”
