Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. This May 02, 1943, article in the Evening Star excerpt shares the news of two newly-named jeeps: “Al Neale” and “Mount Vernon Spitfire”.
I am surprised that there was so much scrap on the ground. It sounds like this device could have paid for itself in tires alone. This was published in the August 20, 1943, issue of the Key West Citizen.

(03/10/2020) Jeff’s selling this nicely refurbished CJ-3B with a PTO winch. It appears to have a reproduction body.
“1953 Willys Jeep CJ3B High Hood. 4740 miles since 2010 restoration. Rebuilt Hurricane engine with 12 volt system. Original Harrison heater and Ramsey PTO winch. Rear seat with locking compartment. Original running gear with Warn locking hubs. Owned since 1989, always garaged. Receipts. Runs, drives, and stops like it should. Nice example that is ready to enjoy.”
