This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. This May 14, 1951, article “Life Goes Ridgerunning” from Life Magazine used to be posted in full on the Yakima Ridge Runner’s website, but that site appears to be no longer active. So, you’ll find it below.

And, there’s the widely circulated set of two videos that may have been filmed at the same time the writers of the magazine article were visiting Yakima (video 1 and video 2)
This form W-242-6 highlighted the new CJ-6’s additional 50% more cargo area. This isn’t the best example of this brochure, as it has some fading at the top and right side.

Looks solid, but lacks combat rims. No pics provided of the engine.

“1961 Willy’s CJ5. Runs Great, drives good lots of new parts. Moving out of state must sale. replaced brake master cylinder, front brake cylinder, front brake shoes, new headlight switch, went threw wiring, is converted to 12 volt, new tail lights, new blinker switch, new shifter boots and knobs, new fuel tank and sender, new carb, new aluminum radiator and thermostat. Jeep needs some more minor work.”
The ad has a ‘ran-when-parked’ comment, which suggests it doesn’t run?

“For sale is a 1948 Willys Jeep CJ 2A. I have owned it for over 20 years but just don’t use it anymore. I was hoping that my daughter would want to drive it but nope. Fairly stock. Original flathead engine, transmission, transfer case and axels. Installed rancho 2.5” lift when I got it because the stock springs were opening up. Installed 11” brakes on the front. Newer radiator a few years ago. Just replaced the wheel cylinders on the front and the master and the rubber lines in the last couple months. Also installed a new distributor in the last couple months with electronic points-less system. New high torque starter. The fuel tank has some rust in it and needs to be cleaned or replaced because the fuel line plugs up. Just ordered one and will be delivered next week. Just replaced the starter and solenoid.”
