Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. This September 23, 1942, photo and caption in the Madera Tribune describe the new way of using a jeep with a radio to communicate with a search plane so that crashes can be more easily located.

Paul’s got this nice looking truck for sale.
“Up for sale is a nice looking, driving and stopping 1953 Willys truck. Originally from the Colorado area. She starts great and shifts in both hi and low range as it should. Many new parts replaced. New plastic gas tank and electric fuel pump.
New cap,rotor,wires and plugs. New master cylinder all 4 wheel cylinders and rubber lines. 4 new tires and tubes. 4 new shocks and carb was rebuilt by the old Jeep carb guy. Windows roll up and down and doors open and close all new inner handles. I have a new complete wiring harness ready for new owner to install. Headlights work both hi and low. Dome lamp also works the paint is 38 plus years old and shines well but was done poorly when applied. Bed is very solid and has been
Rhino lined as is the cab floor. She’s not perfect but she’s also not 20k. Old school patina look.”
Not sure if there is rust along the passenger side or not.

Body is in “great condition”?
“Rare find willys jeep cj2a flat fender WWII style civilian jeep. Body is in great condition for its age. The stories it could tell. Had a motor swap done at some point in its life and was upgraded to the higher output f4 hurricane 4 cylinder. I installed 2″ lift shackles and 33/10/15 super swamper tires. Also has roll bar and some extra lights. Right now it is not starting and needs fuel tank, battery, cap and rotor. Was running and driving just couple years ago. I’ve owned it since 2008 and hate to let it go. Need the cash for bills and car repairs”
