These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “I purchased this vehicle from an older gentleman who had owned it for 44 years. He used it in his orchard for several years and then had it in storage for over 30 year. He had done a ton of work on it. The vehicle has rusty floor pans which were replaced properly. He had the body off the frame and had the body work done and painted. About 300 miles ago he had the entire drive line gone through, engine, transmission and transfer case. He had the tranny rebuilt since it had lots of wear.
The leaf springs are all new.
The brakes have all been worked on. The rear drums were able to be turned and were then put on the front with new break pads. The rear drums could not be turned so new ones were purchased but need to be installed along with the brake pads. You can see the hubs and brakes in the picture.

“This is a 1949 jeepster overland convertible that runs excellent but is a project car. Has: 3 speed on the column, 50lbs oil press, rebuilt carb(could use an adjustment possibly but no big deal), 4 cylinder engine, spare tire, has all the hardware for top but needs a new top, extra chrome, window frames for doors, MILEAGE UNKNOWN. Wipers, heater and top are the only items that need to be completed on vehicle! These cars are pretty rare but seem to be catching the eyes of more and more people because of their uniqueness! Don’t miss out!”

Original Post April 26, 2019: Here’s the booklet I won off of eBay.
I just finished reading The Last American CEO, a book about the transition of ‘Jeep’ from Kaiser-Jeep, to AMC, to Chrysler. The principal character and source of most of the material was Joe Cappy, who was the final AMC CEO before AMC was bought by Chrysler.
Among the book’s more interesting revelations, it argues that if it weren’t for an assassination, that Chrysler might never have purchased AMC.
“Vintage original 1974 Marine Corps MP Jeep CJ-5 with a clean title (third owner).
Had been stored in a barn for a while but starts, runs, and brakes. Battery is brand-new and the Firestone tires have less than 200 miles on them. Comes with handbooks, additional parts and accessories, spare tire. Has some rusty patches and dings and dents. Good project vehicle. Please examine the photos and videos carefully.”
