Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “I rescued 2 Ford GPW tubs that were being stripped for parts down in Sacramento. I couldn’t bare to see them scrapped knowing their history. Many of these Jeeps came from nearby military installations and i would hate to see their sacrifices scrapped for parts. I know both are GPW because of the shape of the rear tool boxes. The front glove boxes are different which will tell you roughly what year range they are.
Both tubs are somewhat rough but nothing that cant be welded its just steel and these GPW’s are TINY!!!! There is no title for either of them and i haven’t been able to find any serial numbers. Happy to provide a bill of sale. I know its possible to get a hull number assigned to these as I had one on my 1951 CJ3A. I would love to see these go to someone competent who will either restore or at least let them live on as someone else’s project. $500 each $1000 for both.”

“This was a leftover project my son picked up and decided he didn’t have time for it is titled as a 1950 cj3a post owner did some extensive chassis work it was set up for scout axles uses Wrangler YJ Springs the frame rails have been box tin plated it has custom crossmembers and bumpers on both ends he had it set up with an AMC V8 in it also has hanging petals course you can tell from the pictures that the body has been linked and out and needs a little work but would be a very solid project rock crawler Rat Rod or? But the important part is it’s got a clean title ”

“Its a 1975 Jeep DJ series. It’s 2 wheel drive. It has a straight 6 (232ci 3.8L) and a automatic (a727) transmission. It’s right hand drive. it needs work. It’s a project. The battery is new. The front brakes are new. I replaced the transmission pan gasket on the transmission but it still leaks.
To get it at least in good driving condition, the transmission needs to be addressed to stop the leak. The brake system needs a flush. Tires should be replaced. The brake pedal itself needs new bushings. It needs some lights replaced. That’s the stuff that would get it on the road. After that I would check to make sure the alternator is good. Replace the fluids and do a good tune up. It’s does come with a new kick-down cable and bracket, as well as a new throttle cable. It also comes with a tow bar.”

“1948 cj2a. Totally rebuilt engine everything was replaced. New brakes all 4 corners with a vacuum booster so it stops really well. New suspension. 5 new tires and rims. Seat have been reupholstered. Custom bikini top. This is a really nice cj2a. Drives really well.”
