1947 Willy’s Jeep! This jeep has been nearly completely rebuilt. Disassembled to have entire frame, tub(new chanels!), engine compartment, engine block (all components), new rims painted in simple, classic black & original Army olive drab. New seats covers. No crazy color schemes! Engine runs strong & looks clean & sharp. All new wiring & gauges. Lights, flashers & blinkers work. New windshield frame, glass & rubber. Has a horn as well.
Lots of time, effort & $$$! put in to it, including the transmission being rebuilt. Can provide more specs to serious buyers. All reasonable offers considered. The right price will also allow for me to share in shipping costs, if needed. Will have a rebuild title. Serious buyers only, no low ballers & don’t need assistance selling it.
Staring bid is $2500.

“Genuine Willys Overland Jeep M38 Army Military issue 1951
This little Willys M38 has been painted blaze hunter orange but under that it still wears its original army olive drab green! Does not have glass in the windshield frame. Jeep still retains much of its original attire including: seats, wheels, tires, blackout lights, fuel tank, tail-gate, bumper, bumperettes, serial plate, and many other small items that usually get stripped after 66 years. Even the US 5 gallon gas can is 1951!
The tub itself is actually in good shape, the only real serious cancer resides under the gas tank as pictured. It’s has a seam split in that area that was created for drainage. Also, a few holes punched out with a screwdriver in the storage compartment for drainage.
This jeep does NOT include an engine, but I have a complete working Willys L134 flat-head 4 cylinder engine that could be included with the sale. Please let me know if this is something you would be interested in adding.
I currently do not have the title, the lady I bought it from lost it in her house?? She did give me a photograph of the title.
Over-all this army Jeep is a great candidate for a restoration project! These Jeep’s are legends, they worked hard for the soldiers who fought, bled and died for freedom…”

This morning I fly to Richmond, Virginia, for six days to help my cousin with her house remodel. So, I will likely be less responsive to emails and questions. But, worry not, as I have plenty of posts prepped.
Ann’s recovery continues to go well, but it’s a slow process. Hopefully, she’ll try not to do too much while I’m gone.
How about his neat 1943 photo from the National Air and Space Museum!
The photo’s caption: “View of four U. S. Coast Guard firefighters dressed in white asbestos suits with helmets and face plates, two riding in a jeep, the other two on the high pressure water pump and hose it is towing, jeep also carries carbon dioxide fire extinguishers, Hall PH-3 in right background, water in left background, 1943.”
