This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “1946 Willys CJ-2a, mid year jeep, 3 speed on the floor. This jeep has all the parts including extra 1944 engine and another t-90 trans and t-18 transfer case. Original engine Does not currently run, may be stuck, haven’t tried to turn yet. Disassembly was begun ( grill, hood, windshield and right fender removed). Needs tires. Needs some typical floor work but is really in decent condition. This jeep is worth the work. I will not part it out, I will keep it instead. $2500, no title or registration, bill of sale only.”

Complete! Runs and drives excellent. Rebuilt motor, transmission, transfer case, and differentials. New gas tank, brakes, exhaust, generator and regulator and more that is not listed.
Great restoration-even has ax, shovel and brass fire extinguisher.”

Our day began unexpectedly. While driving to get some coffee Ann noticed a guy in a 3rd story hotel window changing clothes with his back/butt to the window, and I mean almost pressing up against the window. The morning sun was shining right on the window, so he wasn’t hard to see. What happens in Garden City, stays in Garden City?
As we drove to our first destination, Monument Rocks, I learned I was in trouble. It turns out, Ann had a dream about me accepting a job to do a reality show with Trump and Kelly Ann Conway. Kelly and I had to pretend we were married. For some reason, Ann wasn’t happy about this arrangement. Thankfully, her short term memory is awful and, once I found some caffeine for her, she’d forgot all about it.
We had a problem as we drove north. Neither my iPhone nor our Jeep’s nav system was giving us the proper turnoff road for Monument Rocks. I’d mapped out several times on my computer, so I knew approximately where the turn off was (there are actually two of them, but the southern one doesn’t have any signs along the highway). Fortunatley, Ann tried her Android and it found the turn off just in time. (for those traveling from the south, turn right on Dakota, just across from the Keystone Gallery. Dakota becames 450, then Elk, then Gove E, then turn left — north — on Gove 16).

The chalk formations are on private land and several signs ask visitors not to climb the cliffs. The early morning sun and blue skies made for some neat photos.
This appears to have one of the late model Worman Jee-Cabs. Not amnion these around. The rear of the top looks custom to me.

“1954 Willys CJ3B. Great project. Extremely solid and straight. Has arctic hardtop. Engine and seats are missing but everything thing else is there. Find another 134 “F” head or perfect for a v6 or V8 conversion. Last driven in 1976. Stored under a carport for a majority of the time since then. It will be hard to find a better CJ3B to restore than this one. Has not been abused or molested like a most. If the ad is up it’s for sale. No trades too many projects already.”

“1962 CJ-5 Willys Jeep 4 wheel drive, F4-134 Hurricane engine (runs good), 5:38 ring and pinion with Powr-Lok differentials front and rear, 3 speed transmission, twin stick transfere case, stock rear PTO, Mile Marker hubs, almost new 31″x10.5″ Wildcat tires and nice wheels, nice seats in good shape, new fuel tank and fuel pump, new speedometer, new turn signal switch, all gauges and lights work, recent oil change. Bikini and soft top with doors. Clean title in my name.”
