Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. 1947 Willy’s Jeep CJ-2A chassis. It runs and drives. New wheel cylinders and brake shoes. Includes original 16″ wheels, oil bath air cleaner, dash/cowl, hood and other misc parts. Have the original VIN tags and a NY registration.”
Starting this (Wednesday) afternoon, I’ll be out of service until Friday morning. We have a narrow, though cool, window of weather to escape for two days in the motorhome. Ann’s feeling a little better and Dad is being moved from a hospital to a rehab place. So, we have a short window of independence.
This October 3, 1945, ad from Willys-Overland was published in the Evening Star, based in Washington, D.C.. The ad announces the appointment of Willys of Washington as an area distributer.
