About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
David Tracy at Jalopnik wrote a nice piece about the death of Vernal Patton’s Driver during WWII, Francis ‘Jeep’ Sanza. It includes the following video clip and a shot of one of the vehicles Sanza drove, one with a variety of mods.
UPDATE: Here’s an original press photo used in the article at the bottom of the post.
“1942 Press Photo U.S. Coast Guardsmen in Armed Jeeps at East Coast Port. This is an original press photo. Anti-saboteur patrol “Vital war shipping must be protected on the docks as well as on the high seas,” was an official order by Vice-Admiral Russell R. Wesche, Commandant of the U.S. Coast Guard, who equipped Coast Guardsmen with armed jeeps to protect valuable war supplies from any attempts at enemy sabotage. These armed Coast Guardsmen are shown getting their orders at an East Coast port before they start their patrol in the blitz buggies. Photo measures 9 x 7.25 inches. Photo is dated 10-20-1942.”

All proceeds from the sale of this jeep will go to a military history museum. Maybe it is related to this new history museum? Unfortunately, the GPW has some changes, including a VEC windshield, altered wiring, extra braces on the bumper, incorrect bumper, missing hood latch, and probably some filler on the passenger side behind the step. The glove box is also “missing”. I’d look this one over carefully.
“Original body that has the Ford script stamped on rear panel. Serial #28563 (manufactured in May or June of 1942). 6-volt electrical system. 13 gallon tank capacity. Front headlights pivot upwards for airfield use. Tool compartments above each rear wheel (both have rust damage). Flat fenders, Gerry can and spare tire mounted on rear, pioneer tools mounted on drivers side. Jeep has been partially restored. The transmission was rebuilt 2 years ago an windshield has been replaced. Canvas seats are in excellent condition. The glove box is missing and some non-original holes in dash. A trailer is also available to go with the Jeep for an additional $750. The Jeep was a show stopper in a recent Armed Forces parade. The Jeep is currently on display in a Military History Museum and has not been run for approximately 5 months, however it ran great before putting it in the Museum. All proceeds for the sale of the Jeep will go to the Military History Museum.”

New tires and wheels. Comes with a set of paddle tires for the sand dunes. 4 core radiator. MSD ignition. Comes with a good trailer.”
“Time to sell my old jeep. It is a 1941-45 Ford GPW, similar to a Willys MB series. The Jeep has an older chevy 283 V8 in it that starts and runs. I planned on fixing this jeep up, but haven’t had the time to do so. I have clean title in hand.”

“Runs great! I personally have changed the speakers, radio, alternator, battery, window, brake booster, and the brake proportioning valve. It’s a kit car, it has the body of a 53 jeep willys and the engine is a 2005 ford mustang. It’s my daily driver and I take it offroading. It’s very good with offroading and on the street. It is registered as an ATV so the insurance is very cheap and it is registered for both street and offroading. Automatic. Clean title clean everything. 3000 or OBO or a trade for anything reasonable. Nothing is wrong with it just looking forward don’t only want 2 seats so I can hang with more friends and something with better gas mileage. It gets pretty good gas mileage. On a full tank of gas it’ll take about a week and half til empty.”
