This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. It’s got a variety of mods.
“1949 customized Jeep Willy’s. Has a cj5 motor in it, actual miles unknown but most of the stuff on this Jeep has been replaced or rebuilt. This Jeep has thousands of dollars in custom work and parts. New heavy duty steering and power steering added also. It’s a really cool Jeep.”

“I have a 1948 willys cj2a for sale. This jeep has a pretty clean body and NO rust. We originally bought it with the intention to do a v6 swap and change the suspension. We completed two other projects and we’re running out of space. It does not have a motor but it does have the transmission and transfercase along with several other parts.”

This is a mix of CJ and WWII parts. The top may be a Beck or a Kelly.

Might want to check the studs on this. At least one is missing a nut.
“Rebuilt corvette 327 Turbo Fire engine. Starts right up, Original manual transmission 4×4 rebuilt .16inch wheels , needs minor TLC.”

“1950 Willys cj3a Jeep. This is a 95% complete jeep with original flat head 4cyl. “Go devil” engine. It is not running needs valves replaced but cylinders look good. I have a box of parts for it as well ( including the original seat brackets that allow passenger seat to fold fwd.) comes with a new tow bar. Tires will hold air for a day or so. I do have Colo. Title for it. Not interested in parting out as it only needs a few things to be complete. Asking $ 2200/obo.”

It’s a project.
“I bought this Jeep around 2012 from a person in Ivins who had it sitting in his yard for 25 years. He replaced the engine with a known good running engine when he first got it. He turned the engine by hand a couple of times a year to keep it free.
I put a lot of work into it around 2012/2013
I lost interest, and it has literally sat outside here in Ivins since 2013. It’s still in similar shape, but I’m sure there’s a bit more rust.
For the most part it’s pretty clean. I scrubbed, and painted the engine, transfer case, and tranny. I got most of the crud off the frame and other parts too, so it’s ready for mainly mechanical/body work at this point.

“1953 Willys M38 A1 Real Army jeep rebuilt f-134 (not original) all new parts re ground valves new pistons, rings, rod bearings, main bearings all new gaskets runs good. This is an unfinished project that I will not be able to complete I am moving too far to transport it, perfect father and son project, or just a project it’s in pretty good shape overall and I have everything here to make it drive, current registration non-op transmission works, clutch is good lots of extra parts included.

This war bond ad featuring what looks to be a Bantam BRC40 was published in the April 30, 1942, issue of the Daily Illini.

“For Sale. 1970 Parmley Jeep Body. THIS AUCTION IS FOR THE BODY, TOP, DOORS, AND ANYTHING ELSE PERTAINING TO THE BODY (Chassis not Included). I will consider selling the Chassis and drivetrain.
This body has had one owner since it was new till recent years. The Jeep was never been finished just stored away since the 70’s. Its in excellent shape. There is no damage at all except a spot where the hood fell and chipped the gel coat. Original Decal on Drivers Side. Door frames are included but have never had upholstery on them. This would make a really cool Old School Jeep.”
