About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
“1948 willys cj2a project or for parts. The tub is rusty and full of bondo. Frame and axles are good. Have trans and transfer case. No title, can build for a fun off-road or farm jeep. Have windshield and hood , and gas tank.”
UPDATE: this is a follow up to my March 1st post (you’ll note there are some comments from some readers from that day).
I’m ready to order posters. The original was almost 28″ tall by 22″ wide. I’ve decided to make the final version exactly 28″x22″ rather than my initial 18×24 size. The printing is being done by the same folks who printed all our Alaska Or Rust stuff. They do good work. I’ve already received a 18×24 proof and it looks great.
The per poster cost means I would need to charge $20 for each poster. One poster would be $20 plus $5 shipping. Two or more posters means free shipping in the continental US. How does that pricing sound? I plan to order 100 posters, so the supply will be limited. I will be selling them online and in person as I travel around in May and at the Willys Reunion in May.
“I bought this military Alfa Romeo Jeep 1.9 with an intension to finish restoration that has already been taken place. As you can see through these pictures, some gauges are missing, some need to be restored. All electrical wires are very dry and some missing parts in differential, so I have a new rear end, but i have no time to complete it. Rebuilt engine and transmission, made and rebuilt in Italy from the previous owner. the car still runs and drives. Uses front wheel drive. Great project. Something very unusual and unique. This has the same engine that they used in the 1900 GS, which is the only engine that is worth a lot of money. This jeep comes with customs forms only.”
(03/05/2018) Chris spotted this DJ-3A. Looks like a good price and it appears the Navy tag is on the far right side of the dash.
“1962 Department of the Navy, Willy’s Jeep, Flat Fender, Model DJ3A. $3,500.00 firm, will also consider trading for a mid-size pickup truck of equal value.”
(12/15/2017) This is a very hard-to-find DJ-5 model (this differs from the postal model). Even harder to find is the DJ-6. This looks in real good shape. It has the correct starting VIN of 8505 1227 and it has the four lug hubs. This also has a ventilating windshield, also an option on the original DJ-3A starting in 1956.
“1965 Jeep DJ5. Very similar to CJ5. Rebuilt Engine with only 430 miles. 3 speed manual transmission. Rare 2WD. Almost totally restored. Rebuilt Carb. Rare split windshield with new weather stripping. New shoulder retractable seatbelts. Paint is newer, but has its problems. NO Rust, Frame is very solid ( sealed with por15). Wipers are vacuum operated, but missing hoses. All lights work. New LED brake lights. New rear main seal. No Leaks! except for a once in a while drip from master cylinder. Think that’s just coming from cap. New brake lines, hoses, shoes, W cylinders and master cylinder. Tires are military. Old, but no cracks and hold air. They look new. Comes with- newer tow bar, original soft top and doors (rough), original engine head and manual.”
“For Sale- willy’s jeep with plow
-Plow works fine. Appears to be homemade.
-This has a newer ford inline 6 engine, I believe it is out of an early 60’s comet?? It runs decent, but sometimes stumbles and dies when it warms up. I just noticed that one motor mount broke off of the frame and needs to be rewelded.
-4×4 works great
-clutch chatters sometimes and the 3 speed manual transmission doesn’t like to shift into second gear if the jeep is moving.
-it does have a heater in the cab.
-I have extra wheels to go with it
-the brakes do NOT work
-I do NOT have a title for it.
-the body has rust, but the frame looks decent.
Located in Hibbing, Mn
I’m asking $1200. Cash only, no trades
No emails please. Call or text only”
(01/29/2018) The seller very honestly points out some weaknesses in the jeep.
“Up for sale is this very nice 1964 Willys CJ3B. The last of the flat fender jeeps. This one is in excellent physical and mechanical condition. There is no rust through on the jeep. The paint is decent on the exterior, but there is overspray in the engine compartment and whoever did the paint job did not clean off all the light scale on the rear floor and fenders and just painted over it, so the paint is the weak link.
It runs, starts, drives, and stops like it should. has a radio in the dash that will work if speakers are hooked up. Seats are good and drivers side has a piece of tape on the top edge as shown. I recently installed a period correct Kayline soft top and doors, and it is excellent. Continue reading →
