This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “I’m selling 5-15″ 5 hole freashly powder coated Willys/Jeep rims. These rims were sandblasted then powder coated red. No tires have been mounted on them since being powder coated.

A reader named Randy used to drive this very jeep. He shares his experience below. Note that the DJ-3A fuel inlet was moved to the side to accommodate the ramp.
These pictures were taken in the spring of 1970 and I am no doubt somewhere on the BOAC VC-10. Or I maybe flying the “bucket truck” in the back of the plane cleaning the lavatories
Randy writes, “After high school I got a job with a company that serviced airlines that didn’t have dedicated ground crews. These airlines had only one or two flights a day at our airport. This employer hired and trained people to service the airplanes just like a fulltime ground crew would. Every “ramp rat” was going to be something else after college except for me. I would learn to fly with the meager pay and get employed using friendships and connections made there.
“Anyway, Butler Aviation had a Jeep Baggage Loader and I would drive it on any mission that came up. Summer and winter or rain or snow, I volunteered to position the belt loader and loved each time I drove it. It wasn’t uncommon to reposition that Jeep from one side of the airport to the other. Four or five miles at a time.
“It was a 4 cylinder, 2-wheel drive, three on the tree with the giant loader and hydraulics attached above the center of gravity. The endless belt loader was fixed in the back and raised and lowered in the front. Had a huge rubber bumper on the front of the belt to prevent damage to the airplanes. It only went about 30 mph but, combined with the unstable loader, it could get scary. We use to fill it up with ramp rats and drive across the airport in the summer and get a nice breeze. But in the winter, I was all by myself.”

“Old Flat Fender Willys jeep for sale.. All standard with 604″ 16 to 1 Bowtie Talldeck. Williams narrow rearend with 4 link and wishbone tracking system. 2 speed powerglide, trans brake, 4800 stahl converter, all msd with 7al, hyvac 2 coil, crank trigger, cam belt drive, vacuum pump, custom degreed hogan sheet metal intake with twin siamese dominators, mega fuel 500 with billet fuel filters, Autometer Pro Sport gauges, custom 23′ heads fully ported and bench flowed at 390 cfm,, crower crank, BME aluminum rods,JE custom”
This wagon was shared by Rob, who is currently in Turkey. The price on this wagon is £7500, which he notes is quite a bit than it is worth. Two interesting features include the added handbrake/parking brake on the floor and the LPG tank in the back storage area.
Rob writes, “The tank in the back is actually an LPG gas tank, they are pretty much the normal here in Turkey as gas, petrol, diesel is expensive. These tanks are fitted by specialists, so they are safe. I have one on my jeep. This car or shooting brake as we used to call them in the UK is 2 km from our house on Turkey. It is parked up open not locked on a grass hard standing with about 6 other cars ,, just left there. The jeep fires up, I’ve been told. I tried to open bonnet without luck. The Willys motto is on the front at the top above the radiator.”
