Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. (11/08/2017) PTO winches front and rear.
“It is a Original 1955 willy jeep Cj5. The box under the passenger side is rusted and one of the front fenders, but other than that the body is in good shape. It will need a new top. The jeep runs, but the brakes and drive train will need to be serviced. It has a PTO with two attachments one was used to run a belt that ran a saw and the other a winch. It has a winch on the front and a brake lock system. Willy’s Hurricane engine 4 cylinder. It is rare to find one of these jeeps unmolested and with a PTO. $4,000”

(09/13/2017) Looks a little rough on the outside, but it sounds like it might operate well.
“1950 Willys Jeep CJ3. Flat fenders, low hood line, flop down windshield. Twin stick transfer case, original front hubs, and a flat head. Redone engine / tranny / radiator by previous owner. Starts instantly, purrs nice. New brake master cyl, new brake lines and all 4 new brake cylinders, new seats front and rear, new tires, new altenator (no generator), new battery, booster twin electrical fans, new wiring harness, new lights, etc. Driven a few times each week, even when 115f with no issues. Gets a lot of attention and pictures everywhere I drive. Old ford/mercury trades considered – need cash for my truck project before my wife gets more upset with me.”

Here’s a photo with an experimental 2A pulling a seeding machine.
“1945 Press Photo Farmer operates seeding machine from the postwar jeep. This is an original press photo. The Postwar Jeep, especially adapted for peacetime work, combining the four basic functions of tractor, light truck, mobile power unit and passenger conveyance. Photo shows the new Jeep, just unvelied to the public by Willys-Overland Motors, operating a seeding machine. Among the many and various farm applications of this modern vehicle are: disking, plowing, mowing, raking, threshing, baling, shelling and grinding corn, operating manure spreader, filling silo and sawing wood. Photo measures 8 x 5.25 inches. Photo is dated 07-19-1945.”

“1966 Jeep CJ6. It has a Dauntless V6 225ci with a 3 speed. Purchased new from Charlottesville Tractor Company. I have the original bill of sale. I purchased it as a project and now it’s time to move on to the next one. It has a clean Virginia title and antique plates I’ll let go with it. Here’s a list of what’s been done.
