Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “WWII Jeep project. This is a Ford GPW WWII Jeep. I believe it is a late 1943 or 1944 but I am not certain. The jeep is fairly complete and would make a good project for someone looking for a restoration that has been already started. The body is in fair condition with the front floor needing the most attention. The drivetrain is mostly there with the exception of some transmission parts. It has a WWII GPW motor that will need rebuilding. The pictures speak for themselves and are a good representation of what the Jeep is. Again this is a project and will need a good amount of work before it is ready for the road. Feel free to ask any questions and I will do my best to answer them. These are getting harder and harder to find in restorable shape especially the GPWs. I don’t have the time anymore or I else would finish restoring it myself but I would rather see it get finished then sitting around.”

“’51 flat fender, original flathead 4 engine. Has new military style mud tires, new exhaust, new windshield frame. Great hunting buggy, original front pto winch. Comes with extras, new steering wheel, original seats (need recover), wiper motors, gallon of flat green army olive drab paint, shift knobs, rubber parts, and a other new stuff. Still 6 volt with start button in floor! Solid, Jeep with some rust in front rockers, floors are solid”

Pros:
New front driver seat
Body is in good overall and original condition.
Frame is straight, clean, and rust free.
It runs and drives.
The headlights and tail lights work.
It has a nice custom front bumper and tow bar.
Only 50,000 of the CJ-6 were made. It is basically a stretched CJ-5.
There is some rust but it is very manageable.
It is a great blank canvas for building however your want.
It is remarkably original still.
