About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
“42′ Willys Jeep. Excellent condition, very little work needed. 90% original, has been converted to a 12 v, still has original engine, go devil. Upholstery is great, soft top, was running when stored 20 years ago. Needs a good home.”
“This vintage jeep has been in the family for about 10 years. It ran and drove well before it went into the shop for a new firewall. Was given to step son as a first vehicle, however this is not a good vehicle for a new driver. I can send more pictures or answer additional questions if requested.
Asking $3,000 negotiable (no low-ballers or scammers please) Do not need help selling this vehicle.
The Good:
Custom Fuel tanks fabricated by Roper Fabrication
Brand new Firewall fabricated by Roper Fabrication
327 SBC Engine freshened up all new gaskets and seals
New heads
New Holly carb (CFM unknown)
PSC Power steering
Lots of parts, just needs someone with the time to wrench them together
Tub is in good shape
Vintage WWII era 1945 (has ammo storage containers and re-enforced floor for machine gun mount)
The bad:
Needs repainting
No wiring, requires all electrical installation
May need new driveshafts, have the originals, but new ones would be better
Has not run in about 3 years”
(12/12/2016) Has a variety of updates. It looks like the gas tank has been moved to the rear.
“Runs great, 225 V6, 3 Speed, lots of new parts.
Tires shown do not come with Jeep, she now has a brand spanking new set of Federal Couragia Mud tires.
Pretty much set on price.
May consider trades for great Toyota 4×4 or military truck.”
(03/18/2016) Looks like someone moved the front crossmember forward.
“1942 Ford GPW – Willy Jeep
Good body and running gear with no engine. Was set up for a small block Chevy and still has the adapter bell housing installed.”
“Price is 3k or best offer. Doesn’t run.
If you’re looking at this ad you likely know about these trucks.
Comes with aluminum artic top set. 78 mustang v6 engine, top loader 4 speed, offset t-case, warn overdrive, cj5 rear 44, cj5 front 30, 3.73 in both. Dual custom stainless fuel tanks under seats. Other bits and pieces. Price is delivered anywhere in the valley. Send a message if you’re interested.”
“Clean title, unfinished project. Swaped from a blazer V8 chevy 350 manual 4 speed transmission with 205 transfer case. Needs towing. Make me an offer, I dont need the car. Sold as is. ”
If the “project needs everything” then what value is here?
“I’ve been building this project off and on for the last 4 years. It needs everything. It’s chopped and stretched and sitting on air bags. It’s been set up for power steering and power brakes. The engine is just sitting there for mock up and will need rebuilt. Transmission is good. Will air up and roll. Have different seats that are already re upholstered with a military theme. This will be a badass ride for somebody that has the time to finish. I have a clear Arizona Title. Again, this project needs everything. It’s pretty much just tacked together. I’m not in a hurry to sell would would be perfectly fine if it didnt, so no lowball offers please.”
UPDATE: Another version of this sand dune photo is available on eBay. Another was sold in 2014 (see end of post).
