Jeeps at the Museum of Military History in Kissimmee

Roving eWillys correspondent Tim Evans braved Hurricane Irma to file this report.

He wrote, “I arrived in Orlando, Florida, last Wednesday (9/6) to attend a conference, but found out late Thursday that it was canceled.  That gave me time to visit the Museum of Military History where I found a M38 and a M151 jeep. Then I began a long slow drive home to Kentucky Friday morning, arriving late on Saturday.”

Always good to see people taking their unpaid, completely volunteer, unheralded work as eWillys correspondents seriously. I may have to upgrade his title to Chief Hurricane Correspondent!

Jeeps at a Pennsylvania Mushroom Fair

Rick reports that there was a car show this past weekend at the Mushroom Festival in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, that included a couple jeeps. My wife would have never seen the jeeps; she would have been all over the bomb!

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2900.

Daryl’s got a good price on this jeep. It has a Warn winch and what appears to be a warn overdrive.

“Great little Jeep that has been sitting for several years.
All original drivetrain except for motor is a Buick v6.
Motor fires but needs carb rebuilt.
Spent it’s whole life in Eastern Washington so has very little rust.
Powerlock in rear axle.
11” brakes on all 4 corners.
Upright Warn winch that works.
Clean Washington title in my name with collector plate.’

1942 GPW Hobart, IN $7500

Blaine shared this GPW.

“1942 Ford GPW Script: Serial number 34183. Date of delivery, 6-16-42. This is a project jeep. The engine is an original GPW, it does not match the frame and data plate in numbers. Engine is stuck, but shows no external damage or cracks. Transmission is the correct early type with the fill plug on the right side. Radiator is F-marked as are most of the other parts on the jeep. Does not have combat wheels. I do not have extra parts to put with it. What I did have, is now on the jeep to make it complete. I have an original WWII pintle hook to put on, but it is not F-marked. Body is great shape for its age. Rust issues have been documented in the photos. The frame is exceptional. The front gussets are gone but the horns have never been plated, gusseted, welded or broken. This goes for the rear also. To make the dash more complete, I put a new temp gauge in, and a new keyed ignition switch. I have also included another original grill since the one on the jeep is banged up bad. Sold without title.”

UPDATE: Price dropped to $6200.

(05/21/2017) Comes with some extra parts.

“Have had this vehicle for over 40 years. Most of the work was done in mid 70’s. I put in storage shortly thereafter. I brought it out of storage about 10 years ago and brought it to it’s current condition – about 90% complete. The engine and exhaust still need to be finished. There is no top. There are many, many spare parts including the original flat-head and spare V6. This is the original Jeep Wrangler!”
