Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “1948 Willys Flat Fender Delivery Panel, NO Rust, Fatman Fab Mustang II Front end, Rack and pinion Power steering, 4 Link rear end with coil overs. Disc brakes on all 4 wheels. 700R4 Monster Transmission. New Crate 350 engine, 4 Barrel Edelbrock Carb, Hei distributor, New Alternator, New Wiring Harness, Aluminum Radiator, Lokar Shifter, New aftermarket Gauge cluster, Old style Mag wheels. All new glass and rubber channels. New Gas Tank. New Brake Booster.”

This looks like a good price.
“It’s pretty much all original, 225 Buick V-6, 3 speed manual trans, 4×4. It just had a tune-up with a new HEI ignition and new 2 barrel auto choke Holly carburetor.
I’ve only owned it for a few months, I originally bought it to build a Crawler but soon realized it would be a shame to cut up a clean survivor like this.
It was repainted by the previous owner, it’s not perfect but there is zero rust and it has lots of character.
It also comes with a metal top. $6500 OBO.”

This one has dual heaters.
“We have a 1947 Willy jeep cj2a civilian model. Has the original L134 flat head kaiser 4 cylinder and 3 speed manual transmission. It’s converted to 12 volt. Has new poly fuel tank and all new fuel system. Fresh carb, 9k winch, custom seat mounts with newer seats and seat belts, fiber glass hood, 2 heaters, 31″ tires, rough country shocks and it will come with original seats and horn. It’s been painted a very nice cherry red and has diamond plate all around it. We are interested in trading or selling it. Would consider trades for a nice camper trailer, diesel truck, corvette, chevelle, nova, charger, challenger, road runner galaxy or other older muscle cars. Open to offers”

If the tag is correct, this is a former Los Alamos Jeep.
“All stock and fully restored “High Hood” Willys with 134 cu in (2.2 L) Hurricane I4 motor. Runs perfect and very reliable. Jeep was purchased from Los Alamos National Laboratory motor pool in New Mexico. No rust! Recently installed new parts include tires, shocks, leaf springs, knuckle bearings, front break drums, wheel bearings, battery, and fuel pump.
Title is clean plus plates and tags on it. Great jeep for cruising through town, country roads, or off-road fun.
Hate to sell, but need space in garage.”

Listed as an MB, it looks more like a GPW.
“For sale is my 43 mb. It has lots of possibilities. Civilian post war engine. 3 speed. Only first and reverse function. It has big bucks into the wheels and tires. Runs great. Lots of ford marked parts on it. Looking for 6000 firm. Clear Idaho title.”

“Need to sell my Vintage WW2 “Jeep”. 1944 Ford GPW (twin to the Willy’s MB). New windshield hood blocks (OEM) and weather stripping still in package and never installed. Wife says I have too many projects going and need to downsize. I did have it running but the motor needs TLC. Great project vehicle for restoration or just building a runabout for playing in the desert and on the Mesa. Willing to trade for a 2up ATV and small trailer. (03/21/2017) It’s street legal.
“The body is a 1947 Willys CJ2A, stretched 21 1/2” and channeled over the frame. The Frame (and title) started off as a 1934 Ford roadster, witch has been “Z’d” with 2×6. Adjustable coil over rear suspension, 4 link. 8.8 mustang rear end with open 2.72:1 diff, new axles and total new brakes. Front end is Super Bell drop I-Beam w/disk brakes, Vega box steering. Motor is new 383 stroker SBC, big cam, flat tops 10:1, 2 bolt, aluminum heads, high rise, 4bbl, HEI. Trans is TH400 stock stall, stock shift. New gauges including spedo/odo, nice stereo.”
