About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
“1957 Willy’s Jeep. Has 4 cylinder F. Head. All original. Runs and drives with working Plow. Selling AS IS for Complete Restoration, Parts, or if you want to use for plowing. Has large holes in floors… Not a road worthy vehicle. I used for 20 years plowing for driveway only…. Has electric plow unit and have to turn manually and set with pin…. No title. You need to provide transport.”
“Unknown year or whether it’s a CJ2a or CJ3a. I bought it for parts for another restoration. Don’t need it anymore. Definitely could be rebodied and be a good Jeep. Comes mostly complete.”

Posted December 24, 2020: This article provides more information about this stunt Jeepster and plane. It was published in the March 20, 1949, issue of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram:

What makes this relevant for jeep fans was that to keep the plan in the air, the crew used Jeepsters borrowed from local dealers to race down the airport runway so the crew could hand fuel and food to the two pilots.
This “J” logo with the Willys sign is odd, as the Willys sign is shown moved to the left. Usually, the “J” portion of the logo “hangs” off the Willys logo.
Jesse is selling this CJ-3A, though he doesn’t know the exact year. It starts and runs. It does not include the top. Email him at jrbarta @ mtu.edu (remove the spaces around the @) for more info.
“I have what I believe is a earlier 3A for sale. 3A style frame anyway, I could poke through the other differences to tell for sure.
On the positive side, I did get it running and it starts and runs quietly. Original Carter carb. Not a lot of modifications made except for a few very serious modifications that may or may not be a lot of work to correct.(like the fenders) The dash etc is pretty straightforward with a minimum of holes drilled and things of that nature. Seat frames are good, hood could be okay for a driver. Grill has a little dinger in one of the bars that could be bent back. Older but still soft mud tires on 15” wheels. Drawbar is nice. Great oil pressure. I think basically someone was using this jeep for plowing and taking care of it mechanically until they weren’t. It had clean oil etc in the engine. The starter was missing so perhaps that is what took it out of service. Continue reading →
