About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
Has potential, but is a long ways from most people.
“1950’s Willy’s Convertible Jeepster project car. Barn find. Sat in dry storage for many years. Would make a great street rod or rat rod “as is” project. Has a small Ford V-8 & auto transmission. Currently no running but probably easy fix.”
“Willy’s Jeep 1954 CJ3B. (High hood) The jeep is apart, the frame has been painted all the way to the battery box. Rear end is done, brand new break lines. To many new parts to list. The metal is about the nicest I’ve seen. No cancer.”
UPDATE: Here’s a third press photo of this family camping and picnicking. Below it is an advertisement based on the photo. This was part of the press release photo packet.
“1945 Press Photo Jeep Contributing to the family’s pleasure. This is an original press photo. The postwar Jeep especially adapted for peacetime work, combines the four basic functions of tractor, light truck, mobile power unit and passenger conveyance. Photo shows the new Jeep. just unveiled to public by Willys-Overland.”
Bill pointed out that this photo was later illustrated and used in a magazine ad:
“1952 WILLYS JEEP M38A1C, FIRST YEAR OF THIS SERIES, ORIGINAL UNMOLESTED WITH A FEW MINOR UPDATES. THIS MODEL WAS ISSUED WITH A RECOILESS RIFLE HENCE THE SPLIT WINDSREEN. LAST OWNER HAD IT FOR APPROX 50 YEARS AND USED IT ON A SMALL FARM. STARTS AND RUNS GREAT. HAS A CLEAR WASHINGTON TITLE. COULD BE USED AS IS. 3 SPEED WITH HI AND LOW RATIO AND 4WD. ”
“1971 CJ 5 jeep. Engine has been rebuilt. Wiring is brand new.
Runs very well! It didn’t have a back seat when I bought it, so I bought one but haven’t put it in yet. I also have some chrome pieces, bikini top, and some other pieces.
There are no holes in it. 4wd works great.
I also have an 8500 lb winch and some snow tires and rims I am selling in different posts that would work with this.”
“For Sale: One of a Kind 1947 Willy’s Jeep (CJ-2A)
This Jeep has been carefully rebuilt from the ground up over 3 years by my father, a retired certified ASEA mechanic. Starting from a sandblasted frame, new-off-shelf (N.O.S) parts were used whenever possible. Every piece has been carefully rebuilt and reassembled – you won’t find a cleaner, or more authentic rebuild of a 1947 Willy’s. Lots of fun to take off-road, or cruise around town with the windshield down. See below for details on each component. Thanks! Continue reading →
