Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. (03/29/2017) If you put $15k into it, you might get $15k out of it. Has mods and the wrong head or engine.

(05/08/2014) “Up for sale is a 1947 Civilian Red CJ2A Steel Body with a Later Over Head Valve Engine. Please look at photos for more details as the history of this Jeep is unknown along with all the main spec’s.

Short update. On Tuesday, after buying some parts and fixing some wiring, I got mom’s riding lawn mower running. She’s happy. I am happy.
On Wednesday, after buying a new motor and then upgrading the wiring to 230 … (It sure wasn’t plug and play) … I got the compressor working. I am even happier!
Compressor done? Check …
Parts ready? Check …
Parts blasted? Check …
Nice to be making headway again.

“1947 Willys Jeep CJ2A for sale. I bought this Jeep in 1999. I am only the third owner of this 70 year old vehicle. I completed a total frame off restoration on it. Everything was restored to original with the exception of a 12 volt conversion. I have taken this Jeep to two car shows and did win an award at one of them.
Since I did a lot of the work myself, this could be considered an amateur restoration. Some of the work completed during the restoration include: Engine was rebuilt by Ron’s machine shop in Ohio – Frame was sandblasted and painted – Wheels were sandblasted and powder coated – New body tub and front fenders from Willys-Overland in Toledo – Original hood, grill, tailgate, and windshield frame – I rebuilt transmission, transfer case, and carburetor.”
