Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. (04/14/2016) Steve forwarded this one. I wouldn’t say it is a “great” candidate for restoration; more accurate to say it is badly in need of restoration.
“I have a all orginal 43 Willys gpw. 9 slot grille, with solid tailgate. Jeep was pulled from a collapsed barn in upstate pa.
The bad: Engine is either locked it the trans, because rear axel will not spin..
Also it was hit on the front driver side so the grille and fenders are bent but can be repaired.
The good: it’s a great candidate for a restoration as it’s almost complete minus the seats.
It has the body tags and data plates so acuiring at title would not be hard.”
Mike shared this kind of corny story about a man and his jeep. The image is stock footage used by the site. It isn’t related to the story, except that it shows an old (GPW script) jeep.
Steve found this photo from Camp Tyson of a jeep pulling a barrage balloon.

Glenn spotted this on Hemmings. I looked for a similar example from a brochure and magazine, but didn’t located one. The closed ting I found was the Baby-Jeep-Duriez from France.

The hood still has some original military markings, and there are still some F script parts. This rig runs like a singer sewing machine and has literally logged thousands of miles in the sierras on a multitude of cool back country trips. The price is more than fair for a turn key piece of history. No offers without seeing the rig, yes it can be shipped worldwide at your expense.”

“1950 willys cj-3a keep I bought as a project and just don’t have the time anymore this is a nice jeep the body is rough but the frame and motor are in good shape it just needs a starter. They sell new sheetmetal body’s for this jeep around two thousand dollars the top is said to be a very rare factory top and could easily be worth more than I’m asking alone. I’d like to get around 1000 dollars obo also open to trades”
