“Hello, I have four jeeps sitting in the garage to be finished, and one of the dusty projects has to go. This is a 1947 Willys Jeep that is NOT currently running but will not take much to get it there. Clean and clear Kansas title with a matching ID plate.

Issues:
-The jeep has run and driven recently with the previous owner, but it currently is not getting spark. The engine does turn with the starter/key and cranks and cranks and cranks, just no spark. So it is either the coil or the distributor rotor/points. From what I am seeing it looks like it needs a new distributor rebuild kit (points, cap, rotor) which is about $50. If it’s a coil that is about $35. But that’s just an educated guess

-It does not have active rust, but has had rust issues in the typical locations, but nothing that can’t be fixed. The floor under the tool box is gone (I usually weld or rivet some flat steel in), the front floors have been patched, and the bed has some holes that can be welded shut. “Up for sale is what I believe to be a model year 1943 Willys MB jeep body.  I took it apart about 30 years ago as it was on a GPW Ford frame.  It is original and in excellent condition for a 70+ year old, mass produced combat vehicle for the government.  These were never made to be like a Porsche and had dents and scratches on delivery.  Please note there is a puncture hole above the airfilter mounting bracket at the transition to the cowl.  It looks like a small forklift fork hit it, but I don’t know. The rear floor (cargo area) was replaced when I got it.

“Clear title. Price is firm, I’m selling this for a friend named Barry. He inherited this after his father passed away. It’s a Ford GPW.

Date of delivery 3-3-43
Serial #100328 (matching frame and body)
Engine is MB225042 with the correct T84 tranny.

Barry states the Jeep hasn’t been ran in 3 years. Body has some bondo but is overall in pretty good shape. For $300 extra includes a brand new canvas top in the box from Surplus City Jeep Parts in CA.”

“Okay, you’ve decided you want a classic Military Jeep but you don’t want to pay restored or Family Heirloom prices…
You’ve looked for a long time (off and on) but you just can’t quite put yourself in the right frame of mind with the right Jeep that fits your tight budget. You need to ask yourself, “Am I able to accept something that I can fix and or restore while I’m using it ?” or “Do I need to pay more for one that is all done?”. Most Flat Fender “wannabees” tend to be in the $5,000 to $12,000 range for a “Useable Driver” that doesn’t have major rust or body damage.

Here it is! It’s a “Runner Driver” that looks and acts the part. Granted, …it’s not perfect, but it really is better than most you’ve seen and it’s at a reasonable price.
The Jeep has an out of state Wisconsin title so you need to bring it up to date in the state of California.

Originally the Jeep cost over $11,000 so our loss is your gain. You better not pass on this one because it won’t last at this price.

The engine runs good and doesn’t smoke but the compression numbers are tired but not out of the game. Probably could use a valve adjustment, one valve taps when cold but diminishes as it warms up.”
