Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. Tim spotted this. The back seat has been bent backwards. Some of these have the steering wheel attached to the dash, while others, like this, have the steering wheel attached to a box. One of these is currently on eBay for $50.

Steve spotted this ad. Looks like a good body.
“I am selling my Willys project. This wagon was brought home from Phoenix AZ four years ago. The body is far from perfect, but is largely rust free. The wheel wells were chopped by a previous owner, and the lower rear sheet metal was mashed, so I removed it. The firewall has been partially removed do to a hack job V8 swap in its prior life. The front floors need to be replaced as they are stressed cracked.
What is included:
– New front floor pans (4 pieces)

– Front fenders

– Grille
– Original Seats
If you are looking for a Willys Wagon project, this is a great piece to start from. The unrestored wagons from this neck of the woods are rust buckets. Though this truck is not perfect, it is very solid.”
Doug shared this interesting pedal jeep. I can’t identify it. For the price, a person could get a real jeep.

I picked this up a few weeks ago.
The September 1961 issue of Hot Rod Magazine included this reader-submitted photo. The owner explained that the jeep did well as a drag racer (in the stock 4cyl class I’m sure) when they weren’t using it as a plow jeep.

Here’s an interesting item. It’s powered by a Hercules engine (according to the seller).
“This is a commercial propane backup generator that was installed in a fire station. It was working when removed. It is approximately 20kw. The best part is the engine is the same engine that was in production Willy’s at the time. It is powered by 1960s Jeep Hercules 6 cylinder flat head. Please call for more info and to take a look.

This convertible DJ-3A looks pretty stock. Note the flatly in the back ground of the first pic. Looks like it might be a DJ-3A or Surrey that someone modified. Also of note, the rear top bow has an extra piece across that top of it.

“This is a 1944 military jeep that was built by the Ford motor company,it is ninety percent original and has been converted to 12 volts,it has a willys motor that runs well.it is very lite on rust and I believe it was stored inside for most of its life.vehicle has a clean title and is currently registered.”
