About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .

This and nine other Jeep News magazines are for sale, but they are in Australia. This puts them out of my budget. However, there’s some pics just good enough to see the photos and headlines. For example, in just the two pages below there are variety of examples of DJ-3A dispatchers, FCs, and other jeeps sold. Check out the 22 DJs sold to the Canadian Navy. Good stuff!
“The CJ2A was the very first civilian Jeep sold after World War II. This Jeep went through a three-year frame-off total restoration. Anything that wasn’t original was removed. My goal was to return it to what it looked like when it rolled off the showroom floor. I have owned it for 19 years.
The vehicle was completely dismantled. Original frame was sandblasted, primed and painted. Much of the original body was beyond repair, so those portions were replaced with correct reproductions purchased from a Jeep specialist in California. Original grill, headlights, turn signals, chrome headlight trim, bumper & tailgate were retained. The transmission and transfer case are original. The body was completely sanded, primed, and painted. It has NO bondo / body filler. The original paint color (Luzon Red) was found under the dashboard, and the Jeep was returned to that color with original color wheels. Continue reading →
“The following has been rebuilt: Frame, steering, brakes, suspension, Carburetor, master cylinder, etc. New tires, major portions of the electrical system, water pump, etc. Engine overhauled (according to the previous owner) in 2011. I rebuilt or repaired most of the subsystems except for the tub which you can see and I have a detailed list of all the parts replaced. It has been converted to 12 volt. Apparently, in the late 40’s, the front grill was replaced with a CJ2A grille, the T84 transmission was swapped out for a T90 and a tailgate was installed. It is a true GPW though with the machine gun mount and plenty of “F” marked parts.
Included in the price are a large collection of extra parts including an extra T90 transmission, Dana 18 Transfer case, two gallons of GFI Olive lusterless paint as well as two of the GFI Red Oxide Primer. I have lockout hubs on it now to minimize the wear on the front diff but I do have the original hubs.
I’ve also heavily documented the entire restoration process on CD so you know what has taken place. I drive it around town on the weekends (as far as the 40 mile/hr top speed will take me) so it is kept in good running condition.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay. According to Bill this has the Mark III Tuxedo Park package.
Jim spotted this nice looking CJ-5. It looks like it has a Tuxedo Park Package and appears to have the Indian Ceramic steering wheel.
“From high up in the mountains of central Colorado comes a very well preserved, 1964 CJ5 that is largely unmolested. The reason I say largely unmolested is that other than a carburetor change to aid the drivability at altitude, this jeep is all original from factory paint to the factory upholstery. The original Carter Carburetor is included, along with the air cleaner ducting should the buyer wish to return it to its stock configuration. Carter did offer a “High Altitude” kit for the “Hurricane 4″but it was rated rated at 4000 ft above sea level, but when you consider that this jeep lives at 8000 ft, and a ride into the high country may find it 13,000’+, you see the Carter solution is not viable. Re-jet you say? Carter used metering rods instead of jets, so that’s why it has the very popular Weber Progressive 2 bbl. conversion which allows re-jetting to accommodate the thin air. “USMC Jeep that spent many years on a ranch behind Mt. Hamilton. New paint, wheels, tires, seats and glass. Great fun running around town or up in the hills. New front disc brake conversion added. Runs fine on an original 4 cylinder “Hurricane” engine and stock 3 speed and 4 wheel drive.”
“RARE, fully restored 1953 Willy’s Jeep converted to 12volt system. Runs excellent!! To much to list. Please call for all other info. If no answer leave a message and will call back ASAP. No SCAMMERS or LOW BALLERS. Thanks for your interest.”
Has some rust int he floors, but looks good otherwise.
“Here is a nice and mostly original example of the first year of the “CJ” (Civilian Jeep) produced in 1946. This one is in very restorable condition with the typical rust in the floor-pans that is easily repaired or it can be left “As Is”and used as a daily driver or for outdoor adventures. It’s original Flathead Engine runs and drives well, the brakes have been professionally replaced and the seats have also been recovered in heavy canvas that looks like the original. I originally intended to restore the Jeep when I bought it a few years ago but I just can’t seem to find time to get to it…….so I’m going to let it go. I have a new exhaust system and a new carburetor that will be included with the sale, the winch is not going to be included. One thing that I should add is that the “Half Top” on this Jeep sets it apart from the others that were built in ’46. This one is a Willys Factory Half Top, they are pretty unique and also somewhat rare, here is a link to an article that explains what that means”
