About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
(09/21/2023) Runs and drives. This has a unique cargo carrier(?) on the hood. The driver’s drain hole looks filled.
“1947 Willys Cj2a. Quite a few new parts, for some reason it wouldn’t let me post them all. You can drive it home. Pm me for list and accessories! New, starter solenoid, fuel pump, carburetor, battery, gas tank, seat frames and cushions, tire chains, jack, etc.”
“Small block Chevy 305 conversion project with automatic th350 and new novak adapter to bolt on to rebuilt Dana 18 transfer case! Jeepster front and rearends with disc brakes lots of spare parts! I do have title!”
At twelve pages, the November 1958 Jeep News is one of the largest issues published.
Page one contains various dealer info stories. Page two discusses the growth of jeep clubs and their potential as unofficial ‘salesmen’ for the product and brand. Also on page two is a discussion of the jeep-name origin. You’ll note the appearance in that discussion of the term “G P”, which I’ve yet to see definitive proof to if being used prior to the introduction of the Ford GP in early 1941. Bill Norris was able to locate a blurb, possibly from May of 1942, that suggests the letters “G P” that “appeared on all orders for the specifically made car”, however it’s not clear which orders such letters appeared on or when they appeared. But, it’s an avenue worth exploring.
Page three highlights dealer news, while page four shares how popular jeep exhibits had become at local and state fairs. Page five covers the importance of lighting to jeep dealerships, while page six and seven announce that dealerships have penetrated areas all over the US, though none of the dealerships shown are west of Oklahoma (still 1300 miles to LA from OK). Page eight and nine are again mostly dealer news, though page nine does cover a druggists satisfaction with the new DJ-3A dispatcher.
Pages ten and eleven have a wide variety of stories, but I thought the custom DJ-3A “The Goody Cart” ice cream jeep on page ten was particularly interesting. Page twelve covers a story about some jeepers capturing California horse rustlers.

“Willy’s front frame weights for the Agri-jeep / trenchers and even snow plows in great condition and can load for you ! If you have a new 2023 wrangler Willy’s sport the addition of just one of these weights to the back for traction this winter will make your new “Willy’s” 6.72% percent real Willy’s jeep and the envy of all your fellow “Willy’s” jeep compatriots ! Both weights will of course double the percentage but I must warn you that your head might explode with pride and I recommend just settling for the one ! Percentage will vary with make and model !”
“Best offer two jeeps one complete with a Buick v 6 runs needs new fuel tank or clean out the one in it. Other has no interior but have the original 4 cylinder motor and three tranny’s n transfer cases + two spare sets of original axels.”
“IN KINGMAN ARIZONA! 1949 Willys Jeep Jeepster Overland. THIS IS PROBABLY THE MOST RUST FREE JEEPSTER AVAILABLE. TWO WHEEL DRIVE. Older amateur restoration of a rare (2900 made in 1949) phaeton body style, and then stored for decades. Runs and drives. Steering and brakes good. Typical 6 volt system with “foot pedal” starter. 3 speed on the tree with overdrive, column shift. Engine OHV 4 cylinder (possibly a Hurricane 4), Gas gauge seems stuck and there is an aftermarket oil pressure gauge added. Top is in good condition and interior redone in a nice tweed (doesn’t get hot in the sun). There are no side curtains. Great around town grocery getter and take it to a show and be the only one!. Miles are unknown (hey, it’s 70 years old). Has assigned Arizona Vin and Clean title in my name.”
