This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. (03/02/2015) Tom Pestinger restored this former KSAL radio station jeep. The station owned the jeep for decades, but it had deteriorated by the time Tom purchased it. The restoration took several years, but it looks to have been worth it. You can read the whole story at the KSAL website.

“One of a kind ex show truck. Chop top, sedan delivery, Vista Cruiser wagon roof, tubbed rear with a nine inch Ford. One very cool piece of vintage memorabilia. At one time this truck was a show winning street beast. It sat neglected for years and now needs a total redo. It has rust, especially on the passenger side fender and hood. I have a very nice hood and perfect fender to go with it. The only parts I don’t have is a decent passenger door bottom and rocker. These can be built or bought. Frazier came across a fascinating post on the Land Rover Series One Club forum. Apparently, there were discussions between Land Rover and Kaiser Willys about working together or a merger. According to this book about the British Motor Industry, the talks occurred in 1958. After exchanging information and design ideas, it appears Kaiser backed out of the deal.However it happened, Land Rover engineers apparently built a hybrid CJ-5 Land Rover. All the photos can be seen at the Rover forum. You’ll need to sign up with the forum to see all the photos.
According to one of the photo’s captions, Using the transmission and chassis from an 88 inch model (shortened to 83 inches) this hybrid LR/Jeep prototype was created by Land Rover as potential partnership discussions between the two companies were held. Ultimately no association was formed but an interesting prototype all the same.
Robin picked up this FC Weasel recently (thanks to Marty who spotted it on Facebook).
He wrote, After I got this think home two things came to mind. First-What The Heck!!!!! I have no clue about track vehicles. Second (after some research) the build is backwards. The engine should be in front, not in the rear. A really ingenious build actually.

I’ve never heard of a jeep tour through a sewer.

The engine needs rebuilding, but the jeep looks solid. Seller is an eWillys reader.
“Project 1948 Willys CJ2A. Have Nebraska title signed over to me, but have not been able to transfer to Colorado as the VIN used on the Nebraska tile does not appear on the vehicle. Needs a VIN inspection and bonded title. Unmolested body in very good condition. Floorboards, cargo floor solid. Not a rust bucket. Great Frame. Restoration started, but do to pending move must sell. I was going for a stock rehab. Has a very good L134 Go-Devil engine that is disassembled. Needs light machining for rebuild. Block is very clean, no visible cracks or problems. Transmission/transfer case are still in vehicle, look good. Most parts have been removed, cleaned, primed and painted. Rebuilt the front brakes, hubs, new bearings and seals. Rebuilt Ross steering box and bell crank. Rehabbed windshield and grill. Removed all the old wiring. Most parts and hardware are bagged. boxed and labeled. Nice Jeep, fairly easy project for the Willys enthusiast. I’m not willing to part out, sold as a complete vehicle.”

“Vintage U. S. Postal Service mail delivery Jeep. Bright yellow. Reconditioned with LED lights and good tires. Federal auction so bill of sale, but no titles was issued. Eligible for abandoned vehicle title. Would consider trade deals for solid utility trailer or motorcycle. $750 cash”

“1946 CJ-2A with 90% resto to 1944 MB. Body is in good condition, no rust. Used in WWII reenactments and parades, always kept garaged. Runs fantastic- New electric, rebuilt engine, rebuilt transmission, rebuilt starter, installed new fuel line, muffler, clutch, given her a fresh paint job, canvas. Has pioneer tools, “jerry” can, but tow rope not available.”
