Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. The Toledo Blade published this story November 27, 1953. I wish the photos were better. Interestingly, the article doesn’t mention the Zamboni name at all.

It’s literally logged thousands of miles throughout Nevada, Placer, El Dorado Counties and more. This is a turn key runner driver that is just plain cool. Willys Engine and trans, also Willys axles, but still plenty of cool Ford Script pieces like the seats. This rig has done a little of everything from daily driving duty to he Barrett Lake Jeep Trail. It runs smooth like a Singer and has never left the owner stranded. Pressurized cooling system, 12 volt upgrade, big brakes, and some other period correct mods. This would be great for parking at the cabin or towing behind the RV. Helping my AARP friend sell so call AJ and I can assist with viewing, ”

“1946 CJ-2A Willys Jeep. Engine is 2000 S-10 4.3 L V-6. Changed TBI to Edelbrock 4 barrel Carb and HEI distributor. Has less then 50 miles on rebuilt motor, T90 trans and transfer case. Brand new Big O
Big Foot 31×10.5rt15 Tires. Brand new Shocks and leaf springs3″ lift. Fun to drive!”

Runs and drives, but seller has been having some carb problems.
“This is a beautiful vintage ice cream truck. 1984 AM General FJ-8C. Rare, very hard to find these days. It was formerly a mail postal truck. Freezer and shelving built in. We used it for shaved ice. We got a bigger truck so sadly, it’s time to see her go to a new home.
Runs and drives but it will stall out going up steep hills and sometimes at idle. Sometimes it’s hard to start. Drove it today and it ran great until I went up a steep hill then it bogged down and idled rough after that. Ran good a couple years ago when I drove it 500 miles from where I bought it but we left it sitting as a retail shop for one year then drove it home and let it sit in the driveway another year.
Has some extra diamond plate, but looks like a strong runner.

Listed as a 1953, it has a CJ-2A body that’s been cut at the driver’s side entrance.
“1953 Jeep Willy… Forced to sell due to health… hate it!!! Running with a rebuilt engine, converted into 12 volts… Enjoy the project with lots of parts ready to be installed in order to be a street legal like blinkers, horn, horn button, windwipers, outside rear view mirror… Also, 4 new military type tires… Still needed 4 good used wheel rims 6.00 X 16′ and also front seats. The 2WD could make a good project. The body looks straight and solid.
“Hi all,
I have a VERY restorable 2wd Willys wagon project here that needs a new home! I am posting this for a friend who is now unable to get this project going as planned and it is stored at my shop. I will answer any questions I can but as much as I know now is that it is a 1953? wagon. Has MIN-NO RUST! This is unheard of with these wagons especially in the wheel well and tail gate areas. This body is incredibly straight with one fixable dent behind the driver side door and a few other small dings here and there. The floor boards are the only spot that must of had some rust and were “repaired” by the previous owner but will still need proper attn. The firewall is perfect and un-cut. It is on a clean/complete stock 2wd chassis. Has a 4cyl motor but unknown if it runs. Original trans is in it also unknown condition with the original 3 on the tree steering column. the grill and fenders that came with it were in rough condition and the lower tailgate was taken by the previous owner. but, I do have a few donor parts from my project that could be sold with it if you want them/need them.
All in all, if you are looking for a complete barn find vehicle… this is not for you. But if you are a person looking for a great start to a project that will need hardly any body work then this is a perfect place to start! We will include as many extra parts as possible with this wagon and local delivery can be available… after being seen and paid for in person.
