About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
(09/29/2014) Looks solid. One cylinder has low compression.
“Run good. Has low compression in 1 cylinder. I think it has a stuck valve. Still 24 volt. New gas tank. I have all the top bows but needs canvas. New tires, hoses, belts, ignition parts and exhaust. Carb and fuel pump have been rebuilt. Lost interest and garage space.”
A legend in the jeep world, Don Prine passed away this morning at the age of 97. Involved in jeeps since the age of the prototypes (he was one of the drivers who drove a jeep up the capital steps in early 1941), Don has lived and breathed jeeps — jeeping, racing, selling parts and servicing them through Prine Jeep — his entire life. I used to see him at races when I was a kid. In 2008 I spoke to him over the phone about stainless bodies; he couldn’t have been more helpful. He will be missed.
This is a little confusing. Seller calls this a CJ-6A engine, but the tag reads CJ-3A. It’s a flathead, so the CJ-6A designation seems incorrect.
“For sale is a 1963 Hesse Hornet compressor made by the Hesse Carriage Co. It was designed to sit in the back of a pick-up or on it’s own small trailer. This particular Hesse uses a rare Jeep Kaiser 4cyl CJ-6A engine. It pumps air by having two of the 4 cylinders blocked off to compress while the other two function normally. The engine itself looks good and runs great. It may need a small tune-up from storage but nothing major. It does not come with a battery or gas tank. I tested it by rigging up a temporary tank. This has a tool indent on the passenger side, a military tank, and no WILLYS stamps. Sure looks like a M-606. I didn’t know they installed V-6s in them? The jeep has a few other updates.
“1966 Jeep CJ3B. This is a very rare military version classified as an M606 with factory 225 V6. It does not have any Willy’s stampings on body because it was built after Willys was sold out.
The chassis has been completely redone. Everything has been powder coated and rebuilt.
Factory rear Dana 44 with a newer open knuckle Dana 30 front. Front and rear have 427 gears. Rear has a power lock. Front has a Detroit locker. All new bearings and seals.
T90 transmission & Dana 18 with heavy duty case.
Transmission and transfer case have been completely rebuilt. Transfer case has a Teralow gear kit.
Brand new center force clutch (hydraulic). Brake and clutch assembly have been modified to a hanging pedal assembly. All new suspension. Brand new power steering box.
225 V6 has been rebuilt. Brand new alternator, headers, starter, electric fan and misc.
Brand new seats and tires. 2500 miles on Jeep. ”
“1949 Willys Overland 4×4 wagon.
All original except motor which is Ford 215 cui six. All there, runs well. Licensed and titled in Idaho. New wheels, tires, new upholstery, door panels, interior pan sanded to metal and re-painted with original wood slats. 12 volt conversion.
Great project.
Must Sell: over $4500 invested, sell for $3000 OBO Located in Nordman/Priest Lake, Id”
“1953 Willys Army Jeep M38A1 in very good condition. Jeep came out of Arizona and was owned by same person since the 70’s. I bought a year ago and gave full tune-up with new plugs, wire, points, condenser, distributor, etc. Runs awesome and starts every time. It has no rust at all and it is an old Jeep so it does have a couple of drips which is to be expected. This vehicle is ready to roll so you can buy and drive. Also has the heater option which is nice. Everything is working. The paint is nice, but this is not the $16,000-$20,000 Restoration that you see out there, but it is a very nice $12,000 Jeep and worth the money.”
“I own a beautiful 1945 Willy’s jeep, everything custom from the king shocks, body, tires, lift, interior, to the monster 454 fuel injected engine. There is a huge amount of work and extras put into this jeep to mention. call for more info. 45,000 Obo.”
“I have a 1948 CJ2A for sale. The tub and interior are in great condition. Has a strong running small block Ford V8. New exhaust including headers. New motor mounts from advanced adapters. Drives great but does need new drive lines because of repositioning of engine. Can be driven as is but doesn’t have front drive line so no four wheel drive. Will work perfect once drive lines are replaced (should only be a couple hundred for custom ones to be built do to being so short.) Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.”
