About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
“1947 CJ-2a Willys Jeep. Body is useable and has been repaired at some point. This jeep had a pinto 2.0 liter motor swap. The motor is locked up and not currently in the Jeep. Transmission is no good, transfer case looks OK. Motor, trans and transfer case are included. No title. Use for parts, restore, trail rig or ratrod.”
“I have for sale a early Jeep CJ5. It is pretty plain with some rust. What makes it special is this is a factory DIESEL Jeep. It came from the factory with a Perkins 4.192 diesel engine! If I am not mistaken, this is the only model Jeep CJ or Wrangler that was sold in America that had a diesel engine. There were less than 300 ever produced. They made some CJ7’s with diesels, but only in Brazil. The story goes, it was originally made for the Air Force to be used as a tug, one of those vehicles that pulls the planes and cargo around the base. It was then bought by a chicken farmer in middle Tennessee and he had it for the majority of its life. It was then sold to a friend who is a diesel mechanic, which is where I found it.
The Jeep is complete, but it is a 49 year old un-restored Jeep. The frame has a good amount of surface rust on it, but it is still in safe & usable shape. The Jeep tub does have rust, if you are going to restore it, it will need floor pans. It was on a chicken farm for most of its life, remind you, but it is by no means a rust bucket. There are little dings and scratches here and there on the tub, but overall in pretty good shape. The hood, fenders and grill are all solid. As far as interior, it has two original bucket seats, but hardly any covering left on them. The Jeep is now a black color, but looks like the original color was a baby blue.
(08/03/2014) This is a combination of a CJ-2A and a 1997 Wrangler.
“I moved and even with a garage at my new place I just don’t have space to finish working on her to finish so figured id list her back up
the body is a 1948 willys cj2a – all steel, I stripped the exterior and have one coat of black primer on it to seal while I worked on her, by no means is she perfect but shes all there and I’ve removed near all the 66 years of other people messing with it
the frame is a 1997 wrangler tj shortend in the front behind the 4 link suspension and in the rear in front of the suspension (about 18″ total)
Joel Dunn wanted to share photos of Carson City Board of Tourism’s newly redone FJ-3.
He writes, “I wanted to share some pics of Jays 1961 FJ3 that Carson City purchased as a project to celebrate Nevada 10th birthday on October 31, 2014. Willy participated in the Las Vegas parade on Friday the 31st and then at the Nevada Day parade in Carson City on Saturday November 1st. Willy was the hit of both parades and will now start appearing at tourism, travel and hospitality shows a cross the Western United States. Soon to come is a killer sound system and LED monitors.”

(09/17/2014) This jeep has an M-38 body and parts.
“Just finished this project and have to let it go – too many other boy toys in the garage. This is a project jeep built primarily from left over parts of prior projects so is a composite of both military and civilian, 1940’s and 1950’s. Rebuilt in style of M38 Navy jeep. Clear Oregon title as a 1947 CJ; new stuff includes: brake shoes, cylinders, lines and master cylinder; battery; coil; rebuilt starter (12 volt); military tires; solex carb. Extremely tight T90 transmission – doesn’t jump out of 2nd at all. Runs good but smokes. Comes with another rebuilt engine which has a knock.”
