This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. (05/16/2014) Body looks fairly solid.
“Up for sale is a 1943 Jeep MB. The engine and hood are not original but everything else is. The tub has been mostly sanded down and is ready for body work. There is some rust but not much. The chassis rolls and steers. Has a Colorado title. The jeep is a very good candidate for restoration. I just dont have the time.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $8950. This was last listed in 2011. It appears there’s been some repairs along the sides.

Here’s another CJ-8 Alaskan Mail Jeep. This is obviously a project.

“A full length steel hardtop CJ-8 was made for the Alaskan Postal Service, using right hand drive and automatic transmissions. Instead of the rear tailgate, the steel hardtop utilized a hinged barn door opening to the back. There were only 230 produced and sold in the U.S. It was also widely sold in Venezuela and Australia as the CJ8 Overlander, with small differences including full length rear windows on the Overlander.[38] Steel hardtops used on these postal Scramblers and Overlanders were known as “World Cab” tops.[39]”

(02/26/2014) This needs batteries, but still has 24volt system.
“1953 M38A1 Jeep. Great jeep for the family. We spent many an hour driving around deer leases and camp sites. I proved to my kids that this little ol jeep would climb many things the giant jacked-up trucks could not. Great way to teach your kids how to drive standard. 24V system. Underwater fording switch. Blackout lights. Placque on engine states the engine was rebuilt at Camp Wolters. Everything works. Original 4 cyl motor, transmission etc. Is not running because it needs batteries. A couple of deer lease dents but very little rust or body damage. This would be a great father- son rebuild because not much to do and easy to work on.”
UPDATE: Price dropped to $6500.
“1948 CJ2A Restored in 1996 1000 miles since rebuild.
Everything works like New but E-Brake & Gas gauge.
Asking $8,000 OBO

UPDATE: It seems this jeep is still available . .. or they are just reusing the photos. One of these vehicles (I think the gray one) has a CJ-V35 VIN: CJV3510218.

Marty spotted these Terras in good shape. Obviously the wrong bolt pattern for old jeeps, but the tires looks good.

It’s a project.

• All Original engine, body and running gear

o 6 cylinder “Super Hurricane” 226 CI engine
o Body and bed are solid (In great shape for being nearly 60 years old!)
o All glass is intact
o Four wheel drive
o hi-low range (3 speed) transmission
• The truck has a rare style rear bumper with built-in Jerry-can holders
• Believed to have originally been a Cal-Trans truck
The truck has been sitting for several years and will need electrical work to get it running
Will need seat recovered or replaced
I have clean title in my name — The truck was registered in Nevada, with Antique Truck plates, but the registration has not currently been renewed

I don’t see this in the West as much as the East.
“I have a nice set of 4 Hurricane, Cyclone, turbine wheels.. what ever you want to call them..! they are 15×8.5 with 3-3.5″ back space.. pattern is 5 on 5.5.. fits Jeep CJ, early Ford and Dodge.”
