Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “I am contemplating getting rid of my 1957 Willys/Jeep FC150. FC stands for Forward Control, the engine is mounted right inbetween the passengers below the cab. This vehicle has the original 134 cubic inch 4 cylinder “F” head Hurricane engine, a T90 3 speed transmission and a T18 transfer case with lockout hubs up front. I had this vehicle shipped down from Minnesota 2 years ago and have done the following: cleaned/painted the back half of the frame, installed a new brake master cylinder, rebuilt the carburetor, installed new belts, and installed new leaf springs and shocks. This vehicle runs and drives and is truly unique. Not many of these vehicles left, even fewer located in the south. I also have an extra cab from a 1964 FC150 that is included in the trade/sale with just about all extra cab parts, such as doors, headlights, turn signals, dash, instruments and also includes a new $150 steering wheel. About 75% of the sheet metal work has been completed on the ’64 cab, which is almost finished. I also have a total of two regular single seats and brackets, and also an additional “dual” bench seat that can be installed on the passenger side. The windows are complete, as well as an extra plexiglass rear window. The windshield has some fogging, however a new windshield can still be purchased for this vehicle. All parts are included with the sale. Maybe interested in trading for another F100 project or an American V-twin bobber motorcycle or a possible ratrod project. Of course cash is king. This project definitely still needs a lot of work, however all parts are included. Two titles, a ’57 and ’64 also comes with this vehicle.”

“I have a new Fiberglass Tub and Hood (CJ2A Style). This has never been bolted to anything and no holes have been cut or drilled in it. It comes with a rolling frame but no motor or trans or transfercase. I have too many project at this time and something has to go. This would make a nice project for some looking for a new toy. There is NO title for the frame or tub that is how I bought it.”

UPDATE: Still Available. The body is newer than a ’41 and appears to have been modified a little at the tool indents. Also note the driver’s side wheel. It appears to be pushed back a little farther than normal. Thanks to Colin and Richard for spotting these issues.

Self Portrait . . . let the unbolting begin! Note what happens when I leave the jeep in my parents garage. It becomes a squash storage facility.
I’ve spent the last couple days moving and reorganizing parts and things so I could make enough room to start disassembly (see pic below). Today I finally got to begin the breakdown process.
As you can see, it was a bit of a mess.
One of my strategies during assembly was to make the body as easy to remove as possible. So, for example, nothing is wired or attached to the fenders. In addition, the wiring along the underside only attaches to the frame in one spot (a ground). It all worked well . . . great when a plan works!
I also removed the seats. Posts welded to the frame stick up through the body (holding the body in position). Seat plates are screwed onto the body. The seats are bolted to the plates. Here the passenger seat plate has been removed and is sitting next to the post.
