About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
There seems to be value here. Rims, tires and hubs look good.
“Bought this Jeep for a fun project to restore but now have medical bills and need to let it go. Engine is a newer Buick (I think 1986) has about 50K miles, rebuilt carburetor. Needs work to be road ready. See pics and call to make appointment to check it out.”
“For sale is a true Army jeep, not a cj that has a coat of od green. I have a Wisconsin title in my name with the military vin. It has been converted to 12v, and still has all the blackout lights and switches. The tub is fairly solid, not perfect, but a great start. I put all new axle bearings, seals, wheel cylinders, brake shoes and lines, as I started restoring it from the bottom up. It has a buick v6 with a twin stick. Has bumperetts, pintle hitch, jerry can and holder, spare tire carrier, canvas loops, lifting shackels and brackets, and many more expensive and rare hard to find parts. It also has the fold down grill, so it must be an early 53.”
“I was going to do a frame swap on this Willys, but was advised by Willys “Officianados” not to do it because of it’s year; 1949 was the last year for this style…rounded rear wheel wheels. I had already begun dismantling it, so stopped, and that’s the way its been sitting for several years (inside). I won’t be getting around to it, so it’s for sell.
The F134 motor is locked up, but there’s a running one on CL for $300. 4WD, floor shift. It’s all there, but needs some work.”
“1948 willys cj2a jeep body also have a suzuki samurai frame go with it. $1000 for body or $1300 for frame and body. Willys has a good title just waiting to get it back from Frankfort so it will be in my name. ”
“Fiberglass tub with metal dash, metal fenders, hood, grill, windshield frame, all in good shape, also a set of tires and wheels that are good for rollers.”
“Rare 1953 Willys CJ3B Highhood Jeep. Rolling Chassis. No motor, transmission, transaxle or drive shafts are included. The floor of the tub is in pretty good shape with no rust through. The tub will need some attention though as the rear corners are pretty beat up. The differentials have been set up as spring over axle but I know nothing about the condition of the axle internals. The frame will need new shackle mounts all around as the current mounting of the springs to the frame is ugly.”
(02/16/2015) Refurbed, yes. Appears solid. Not restored to original.
“Complete frame off restoration. runs like new. The electrical system is upgraded to 12 volts with original cloth style wiring harness. I also added a limited slip to the back differential. This jeep is a runner and a ton of fun. I regret selling but I don’t have time to enjoy it.”
