Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. The owner of this unusual jeep kit from Western Auto would like more information. Anyone ever seen or remember one of these? I spent some time trolling through “western auto” ads from past years on eBay, but didn’t have any luck

This looks in good shape. It appears to have an early grille.
“The first Jeep Willys is a 1948 bright yellow rag top. The interior and the rag top is in very good condition. Its have been rebuilt from the ground up using all most all the original parts and runs very well. Has been parked for a long time but has been cranked once a week. I want this to go to good people who will run them and maintenance them as needed.”

“1959 Willeys jeep powered by a 350 Chevy small block, GM 700r4 over drive transmission, international Scout posi differentials, front power disc brake
power steering, electric wipers, custom Lokar shifter, Jeep tilt steering wheel that the hi/low beam headlamps and wipers were incorperated into.
350 Engine with Elderblock carb and intake, headers,Moroso valve covers, 4 core aluminum radiator, heavy duty tranny cooler, New 33×12.5×15
BF Goodrich Allertains with deep dish aluminum wheels. This is a turn key driver that drives very well, when driving down the road at 60MPH the engine is only turning at 1700RPM. Has new winch on the front. Paint and body work is driver quality it is not perfect by any means but it looks real good.”
This runs, drives, and has a rear PTO.
