Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. Not the best quality, but this first photo appeared in the February 13, 1941, issue of the Spokesman Review. The photo shows Bantam BRC-60s laying down a smokescreen. The caption calls the vehicles “midget trucks” and then claims the trucks are called “bugs” by the troops.
However, by May 7th, 1941, the Spokesman Review was referring to the vehicle not as a truck, but as a command car called a “jeep”.
John forwarded this video. The music seems perfect and the comments are hilarious. If I took Ann down this hill, I’d be hearing the same things. She can’t do heights. In fact, I think I’d be doing this one solo. It’s still on my list to drive.
This is a 1964 press photo. Should I know who Sonny Childers is (a quick google search wasn’t much help)? I think Sonny is in a CJ-3A with a 2A windshield. That’s only based on the 3A looking bumper and front frame rail.

This press photo shows an MB catching some big air. Despite the jeep’s early vintage, the date of the photograph is Feb 11, 1944. This photo has appeared in a variety of places, including on the cover of Jeep Genesis: The Rifkind Report book.

It runs and drives, but could use some brakes.
“53 willys cj3b runs good the brakes work but not the best need to be bleed. Horn wiper and lights work. Has 134 f head 4cyl with t 90 3spd twin stick transfer. I have spare motor tranny and transfer. The tub is fair there are a few spots that have rot the front fenders mostly. Its got 6 33″ buckshot mud tires that are 3/4 tread or better. Has 6′ plow electric over hydrolic manual angle plow. New battery plugs changed.new oil in motor and all the boxes. just greased it. Has a boat tank for a fuel tank. make good project for road. mud buggy woods buggy or plow rig. open to offers what you got? interested in 350x, 250r, tri-z, 80s chevy or gmc long box 2wd trucks need not run but must have nice cab and bed. $2000 obo thanks”

“1974 Fiberglas US mail jeep runs good. Tires are fair. Has a shelf to hold mail. Front brake lines replaced and working, but will need four wheel brake cylinders. The running gear is good. $3,500″

A mostly complete Jeep partially disassembled. Rolling chassis with drivetrain still mounted. Engine and transmission ran well before I removed tub.
Front seats-original seat pans in good condition, sandblasted waiting for paint. (have some original cushions)
Front Fenders- original in fair-good shape. Need some repair. Sandblasted.
Chassis- hand sanded to bare metal and painted with POR15 Chassis Coat.
Combat rims- 4 original (with warning tags). Sandblasted, painted and 4 new ND tires with tubes/flaps mounted.
Tub- Needs some repair and fuel sump replaced. Driver and front passenger area needs repair. Axe/Shovel area and riser behind driver needs repair (have replacements from Jeeppanels Plus)
Grill- Original and in great condition
Hood-Original and great condition
Windshield frame- Original in great condition
Windshield- Glass intact
Fuel tank- Original. Told it needs repair. I never filled it. No visible holes.
Gauges- All original except temperature gauge.
Air Filter-Original and Complete
