(11/24/2012) Glenn has his Lefty CJ-2A for sale.
“This is Willys CJ2A S/N 185318, a documented Lefty, as discussed in “Calling All Leftys” on The CJ2A Forum. This is a PROJECT!! It needs EVERYTHING restored. Mostly complete vehicle, rusty body and frame. Frame has been repaired, repaired again, needs more repair now. Body has been off frame, repaired, welded in floors, panels and needs more repair now. Engine, drive train are stock, non running, looks complete, I haven’t tried. Has a rear PTO unit, but needs repair also. As per PO, this Jeep was running when put into storage about 5 years ago. I added stock KH 16″ rims with oversized 7;50X16 tires, took out bucket seats, added stock left seat frame. RH seat is not stock, maybe Crosley. The dash tag is very readable with CJ2A-185318. The frame tag is missing. The ACM Number looks like 17?579 and others in that neighborhood show the third digit might be a 5 or 6. Buyer will research further. This is very near the end of Lefty production as per Willys Service Bulletin 48-27 and less than 20 have been accounted for making this a very worthwhile project. Sold with a Bill of Sale only as Maine is a non title state. I can license and insure legally in Maine as it is. What you need in your state is up to your DMV at your expense. Email me at glenns@tdstelme.net and I’ll send pix and complete details. Don’t bother me with silly questions like, “How are the hat channels?”. Like I said, EVERYTHING needs repair. I Have 12inch brakes waiting to go on and a locker in the rear and one for the front tranny and transfer case are out the motor needs to be installed again frame has been strapped 2 inch lift with a body lift also I have ran most of the trails south of Seattle and all of the Naches trail. I could haul on my car trailer to you after you come see it and we agree on the sale.”

The starting bid is only $3500. This appears in good shape to me (but I know little about these).

* Graphics / Markings are either vinyl self stick OR Spray painted stencils. Either way, Graphics are easily removable with Acetone if desired *
I had the Engine removed and Transmission / Engine seals replaced by a professional Antique VW repair facility because I saw gear oil on the floor of the barn. Some say old VW’s mark their territory by leaking oil but this one does not.
KUBELWAGEN has a 1974 – 1600CC / 58HP Engine < #AE 946851 > that purrrrrs and a 1965 Beetle Chassis < Vin#145304936 >
It is Titled in NJ as a 1965 VW KUB CON (meaning Kubelwagen Convertible). It was titled by me on June 7th this year. I have driven it about 300 Miles to shows and around town. It WILL go 70 MPH but I drive it at 45-50 MAX and laugh as people drive around me.
The Mileage shown on the Working ODOMETER is from a Donor Car and is 52,748 – This is NOT actual but is the number used for title purposes. The Actual mileage this car has traveled in it’s current configuration since being built is estimated at 400. That would be prior owner who completed car 100 Miles ESTIMATED and MY personal ESTIMATE of 300 for a total of 400 ESTIMATED miles.
The car is a 2 DOOR in Suicide configuration to open backwards.
It has single element Headlights meaning NO HIGH BEAMS.
It has a Working GAS gauge, Speedometer, Odometer and Oil pressure gauges that DO NOT Light Up. I believe they have bulbs and can light up but do not at this time. I don’t think they are wired to light up.
It has a Push Button on the dashboard that energizes the Alternator to charge the battery.”
