About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
(03/10/2012) This is an oddball. I dont’ see that rim design too often.
“Selling an early 1945 Willys CJ2A Jeep. Frame in good condition. Originally a manual coulmn shift. Rear section of body was modified with a 1930s Ford pickup bed and tailgate. No engine, gearbox, or transfer case. Good for project, or parts.”
UPDATE: Price dropped to $900. This includes a PTO.
Slight sag in a rear . . .
“all original willys jeep owned by same owner for 25 plus years. rebuilt motor with very low miles on it. pto trans with winch in back. everything works 4×4 winch all gears runs and drives good. the winch is strong, easily stronger than my warn 9000. the bad news is it used to have an A frame on the back that’s why it has the winch in the back and it was used to lift stuff to heavy so the frame and body are bent down in the back. the frame is bent down from the axel back. the body is pretty rough. this would be a great parts car or a desert toy. it will go anywhere. windshield not cracked. wiper works. still 6v set up. lots of original parts on it worth money. the pto trans works great and shifts smooth. have an original spare tire as well. have clean title and it is currently ca registered. brand new battery. email call or text, in email put jeep 4×4 in subject or i will not answer do to spam. 8-0-5,509,-3322. i work on weekdays till 3:30 so if you call before then i will not pick up but feel free to leave a message. might be interested in a trade for jeep Cherokee, Comanche, jet-ski, etc.. lemme know what you got with a picture. i get pic messages.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2200. May have a Porter & Reed hardtop
(10/09/2012) This looks to have rust along the driver’s side. It has no title.
“1946 Willys CJ2a jeep that has been used on a deer lease. The jeep runs and drives good. The gauges all work, horn works, lights all work, the four wheel drive works good, the transfer case seal on the front drips gear oil, the transfer case makes some noise but still works good, the engine runs good, the cab on the jeep can come off, but works pretty good in the winter. The jeep does have some rust, this jeep would be good for hunting out of or using on a ranch. The jeep has not been on the road and the title is lost, but will provide a bill of sale to the winner.”
(06/30/2012) Rolling Chassis. It has full floaters, but tough to tell from the pics if the frame/rear is civilian or military.
“Rolling chassie with body…
NO engine, has trans and transfer case, full floating axles
the dash is there with gauges but the glass is cracked, no seats
the windshield frame is complete, but the glass is busted and the hinges are rough
only real rust is on the bottom of the tool box on the passenger side
fenders are straight, its pretty much all there except the engine…even the shift pattern plaques for the trans and t case are on the dash!!”
Based on the Serial Number this is technically a 1958. You can follow the discussion here and here.
It doesn’t run at the moment.
“We have a 1957 Jeep Willys (Kaiser) DJ-2A Flathead 2WD in our barn. We are evaluating what to do with it but we are not interested in fixing it up. It has all the parts and was running (driven into the garage) but it is rough. We want to sell it but do not want to chop it up or part it out because it was running when we drove it into the barn about 4 years ago.”
Ann and I arrived safely in Pasco after a sunny/rainy/snowy/windy day driving through the panhandle of Idaho, then west to Pasco. We spotted and photographed a couple jeeps, ate some good food and visited with family; so it was a complete day!
More tomorrow on this possible CJ-2L Bruce spotted. Note rare Desert Dog PCV tires (not that they are in good shape). They have a tighter tread than the standard Desert Dog tires.
Here is the story of George Adler and the launching of Four Wheel Parts Wholesalers in 1961. Starting at the kitchen table making catalogs, the company grew into an off-road parts empire.
I spotted this brief note about the four-wheel-steer Bantam BRC-40 on page 167 of the May 1946 issue of Popular Mechanics. Why it appeared five years after it was built seems a little strange. I can’t imagine the army keeping this model top secret for any reason. Maybe they needed some filler for the issue?
I don’t know how old this is, but thought someone might like it.

“I have a 1955 CJ3B for sale. Has clear title and I was told it was a Chicago Fire Dept. vehicle once upon a time. The tube has been modified over the rear wheel wells for the hose and pumper. Drive train is all original. Needs restoration.
Price: $3,500 or Best Offer
