Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. (10/11/2013) This might be an earlyish 1946 based on the data tags.
“1947 Jeep Willys CJ-2A. All original! (Serial on engine/chassis match) tires stay up, good tubes. No major mods! Original flathead 4 cyl engine runs well! 12v system. Original 3 speed-low/high transmission. Jeep runs and drives well, needs brake work however. Has body rust. Amazing to be in original condition rare vehicle.”

(02/24/2014) It’s missing some trim on both sizes and could use some paint. It has potential.

“It’s time to change toys. I would like 30-50 ford or Chevy pickup driver. My cj is real nice. Mostly original, converted to 12v.. Still has the “f” head. Great 16″ tires (basically new). Full soft top and bikini top. Will pay extra for the right truck.”

The Taylors of Walnut Hill, Kansas, were featured in the March 1948 issue of Country Gentleman. They owned the Walnut Hill Hereford Ranch. I googled the ranch, but it no longer appears active under that name.
According to the article, “Tom Taylor bought his his CJ-2A jeep with some misgivings, but the jeep is probably his favorite piece of equipment. He now declares he wouldn’t know how to farm without it.”

The article also notes, “The most original item is their repair-trailer, a wheeled frame of six-inch tubular steel which serves as compressed-air tank, carrying its own power, equipped for spray-painting, lubrication-pressure, welding and acetylene-torch cutting.”
Custom trailer for welding, cutting and mobile power. It appears the CJ-2A has an bed extender along with an extra tall rear seat (custom seat?).

And now I lay myself to sleep, atop a Waco Army Jeep . . . There can’t be many of these pillowcases left.

I COULD NOT GET IT ALL IN MY LEGAL SIZE SCANNER SO I SCANNED 5 IMAGES OF THE PILLOWCASE AND ONE IMAGE OF THE POSTAL BOX IT CAME IN. THE BOX WAS ADDRESSED TO LENA JANE RUSSELL IN CORSICANA, TEXAS.. AND BOX WAS FROM PRIVATE C. J. BELLRINGER OR BELLVINGER ? IN WACO, TEXAS. WHEN YOU LAY THIS THING DOWN, IT MEASURES APPROXIMATELY 20″ x 20″ IN SIZE.”
Does anyone know if this was really used in a showroom?
