About eWillys
Welcome to eWillys.com, a website for vintage jeep enthusiasts. I update this website nearly every day with jeep deals, jeep history, interesting reader projects, jeep related info, and more.
These quick searches can help you find things on eBay. People list in the wrong categories all the time, so don't be surprised to see brochures in the parts area for example. This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.
The links to posts below show jeeps grouped by models, condition, and other ways. Some of these jeeps are for sale and others have been sold. If you are unsure whether a vehicle is still for sale or not, email me at d [at] ewillys.com for more info.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
With out the quarterpanels, this looks like it has no pants. However, it runs and drives (in the yard).
“This Jeep has no title just bill of sell. Does run and yard drive 4 cyl. 3 spd, needs break work. Rusty but would make a good 4+4 farm vehicle !!! * 828-244-7120 *”
Some recent work has been done. I’m thinking that giving this to ‘Momma’ for christmas might not be the best plan . . .
“1944 Willys Jeep
just finishing putting another good running engine back in it this weekend
Should be ready by this Monday. Here is your chance for a great runaround jeep.
It has all new brake shoes, hoses, master cylinder, wheel cylinder, rebuilt carb, new gas tank, new seat cushions
front and back. has locking hubs, new rebuilt starter.
Put a big red bow on this sucker and give it to Momma for Christmas!”
UPDATE: Still Available. Anyone tried contacting the seller recently? Is this real?

“1958 Willy’s Jeep, 4 wheel, FC-170 Firetruck. Built by Valley Fire Truck, Bay City, MI. 1of 3 Made Rebuilt motor. Truck all ready to put back together. 2 cabs. Motor over $2300. Good Tires. Have over $10,000 invested, will take $6000 or trade! Owner 83 retiring, must sell! 989-239-1775”
“I built this tub years ago for a rock crawler, and never finished it. Now the tub is sitting in my back yard rusting. It would make a killer rat rod, or finish it as a Jeep.
The entire floor has been replaced with 14 gauge diamond plate, and the rear has been moved up 6″ I have a windshield frame, grill, hood, a set of fenders, and a tail gate to go with it. The fenders are kind of beat, but the rest is great. Asking $500 for all of it, and will not separate! So far it has very minor rust, that’s only on the surface. I don’t have any pix in it’s current state, but can get some if you need them.
I do have all the paper work for a title on this one, so it can be street legal!”
Roberto spread some christmas cheer our direction by sending some examples of his holiday jeeps. They will appear over the next few days. Thanks Roberto!
UPDATE: Glenn spotted this unusual competitor to the DJ-3A Surrey. The seller calls it a Jolly, though the magazine picture below suggests it is actually the Renault (thanks DC). The one shown below has been in the Newport Beach area for years and was once owned by the founder of Armor All. It is up for auction on eBay.
Included in the Auction is a picture of a Mechanix article that discusses the DJ-3A Surrey, the Jolly and a Renault Beach Wagon. I tried to find the original article, but couldn’t. However, I did the other Modern Mechanix articles about jeeps listed in the posts below this one. Great stuff!
Mechanix ran this article and picture on the future of the jeep in December of 1944. I think I might have this picture somewhere else, but never new its origin.
