Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. (06/24/2013) Marc spotted this pricey, but interesting brochure.
“Original part color catalog , 8.5 x 11 , 8 pages , has a small hole near the top border on all pages , shows and describes the custom Carcraft body for Willys CJ3A . Produced by Carson Machine Company , Oklahoma City , Oklahoma . This item is AutoLit Part #wt3764-WKSDCG.”

“Clean,good running jeep has a new rad,master cly, all new exhaust,new one wire alt,new elct fuel pump,leaf springs,top and gauges.Its all 12v has extra parts to go with like extra front and rear axles and misc. parts. Has the hurricane f143 and all original trans and trasfer case. Asking $3000.00 O.B.O. Clean title and registered.”

I’m unclear why the seller thinks this was in the Air Force. Looks like the driver’s side of the body has been patched and indents filled.
“this is a good old air force jeep mp this is a 1944 modle mb not a cj it was used for a guard jeep at an air force base so it had a machine gun mounted on it so the under carriage is built heavier than a Cj. ”

Rusted, but runs.
“I have a 1957 Jeep FC 150. Does run and drive. Don’t have time to work on. Not all rusted out, does have rust in spots, box is rough. Open to sale or trade. Does have a snow plow that goes with it. Looking for fire arms, maybe a road bike, loader tractor, something useful. Thanks for looking.”

Needs some brakes, but runs. The glass looks damaged.
“This is a 1956 Military Jeep. It has the stock four cylinder f head engine. Factory koeng pto winch. It has been converted to 12v. The body has some rust . The jeep runs and drives but it needs some brake work.”

“1947 cj2a willys jeep. jeep runs fair. mostly original. new water pump, fuel pump, head gasket, radiator cleaned out. a small hide away box was built in the back. this jeep run good. great for hunting or putting around the farm. comes with a landcruiser roll cage that needs a little cutting and welding to fit. asking $3500 O.B.O”
It runs. I don’t see any obvious rust.

“I have a 1948 Jeep Willys runs doesn’t drive. I bought this for a project but I do not have the time to fix it. It has what I believe is a Dauntless 225 V-6. Installed by a previous owner. I really don’t know much more than that. the block casting is 991503.”

(08/16/2013) New paint would help this a great deal.
“I have been driving this Jeep around for the last couple of weeks. I hate to get rid of it. It runs and drives well. fairly new tires, lights work, floor starter works, 12v, bed is a little rough. Currently licensed and I drive it nearly every day. The price is firm.”
